Estelar Recinto del Pensamiento Hotel

Recinto del Pensamiento is a gem of a hotel....Setting is beautiful....staff is friendly and helpful....grounds are beautiful...saw deer, birds, orchids, white heron....grounds are beautifully landscaped and the natural beauty that surrounds the hotel is breathtaking....close to town by taxi or cab....close to coffee region....breakfast, which is included is plentiful....i would highly recommend this hotel for a unique experience...

THAT HOTEL WAS BAD . NO HEAT,NO AIRCONDITION IN THE ROOM.THE ROOM TOO SMALL ,AND THE REST TOO FAR FROM THE ROOM.

We were so well treated here! This hotel has a bit of a corporate feel to it because it is co located with the ground and buildings of the Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia. hence there are many meeting Buildings etc. But the extensive grounds of both are lovely, including the 3km nature trail and the small zoo. The rooms are very modern and new. King size bed and great new bath with excellent showers. Great water pressure and hot water. This hotel is a great. choice for nature lovers. There's an excellent on site bird guide (Julian). Lovely area with hummingbird feeders. We can't say enough about reception Worker Orlando, who speaks English and really went put of his way to help us in the 5 nights we stayed. Wilson also. Reasonable price includes breakfast buffet - great fruit, eggs, beans and rice, cereal. We also ate most dinns and a few lunches in the hotel restaurant. Not much atmosphere, but the food is very good and the menu includes something for everyone. Restaurant staffers Antonio and Carlos were super kind and helpful to us, very patient with our bad Spanish! A down side of this hotel for some might be that you will need to take an easy bus or taxi to town. But it's prettier at this hotel than in town and you can easily arrange trips toLos Nevados etc from here.

We have stayed at the Estalar before and we enjoyed the surroundings so much we returned. The location in a eco-friendly park is spectacular with a nature trail (quite strenuous) with a hummingbird station, butterfly station and wild orchids. Staff is efficient and helpful

I have stayed at several hotels in Manizales and paid over $150.00 USD per night. But none have compared to my experience at the Recinto del Pensamiento. I would have gladly of paid $150.00USD per night but there was no need to do so. I booked the first night with my flight at only $40.00USD. Each night thereafter was only $55.00USD. The hotel is a nature lover's dream come true. Fish ponds, deer, sheep, ostriches, and chickens can be petted and fed. A Juan Valdez coffee shop along with a gift shop is on the grounds. $6.00USD per person gets you a guided tour of everything that has to do with flora, fauna and coffee. Check this out!
