I usually love the Charterfield Guesthouse, I’ve stayed there about 6 times before. The main house is lovely

I booked the “budget” room as it was the only room available, unfortunately I also got the “budget” treatment. I was led out of the lovely house past the pool to what seems like next door’s old store room, about 2.3m wide. Comfortable queen bed but my bar fridge was outside. No view, a skylight that stopped the room from being dark. The room was R1250. Single occupancy for one night so not really so budget. To add to this, I was told that I would not get a lovely cappuccino in the morning like the other rooms as I was the cheap room. Really, a R35 coffee is too much ? No art, dingy cupboard, no bottled water, really not up to Charterfield standards :(

The fireplace area needs a comfortable couch and chairs.

Nous sommes arrivés tard et l'accueil par le gardien de nuit était très souriant et sympatique. Les chambres sont suberbement décorées dans un style épuré et les lits sont confortables. La vue sur la mer était magnifique depuis notre chambre. Le petit déjeuner était très agréable et les conseils du gérant appréciables. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir pour un prochain séjour.
