Hyde Park Hotel

The outside had me a little worried when we pulled in. But don't judge a book by its cover. The inside was very nice. A little smaller than expected but overall a very nice experience.

Smaller than the pictures led you to believe and need vending machines or ice machine

The mattresses were comfortable, we slept very well. The location is our neighborhood, so it was wonderful and quiet. Lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance.

Some small repairs needed. Very eclectic. Some of the furniture was handmade.

furniture was dated but the bathroom was new and clean for the price this is great value for money ($125) just manage expectations given the price

The bed sheets had a bad smell

Room 107. The king bed was very comfortable and pillows were good. The bathroom was new-ish and had a really good lighted mirror. There was a kitchenette that functioned but needed improvements. I liked the lockbox system for the keys but wonder how often the codes are changed.

While new, the toilet seat was one designed with the split and NO cover; leaving no place to put anything while using the bathroom for showering, makeup, etc. Really awkward since there's the risk of things dropping into the toilet. The AC unit was loud and won't work for light sleepers; however it hummed along smoothly and didn't rattle or vary its noises so was able to be controlled somewhat with earplugs.

First impression from outside was a building in a very bad state, which I would not define as a hotel. First they confused our booking and missed to send us instructions how to get in the building and room . We reached vía speaker button a lady that helped us. Once in he room, from inside It was the same as from outside: old, dirty, smellly with rusted parts of kitchen devices. Blankets were carelessly located in a corner, refrigerator seemed to be decades old. We preferred to be hours outside and sleep only the necessary. in order to avoid beeing inside that room with sticky , bad air. My son had after first night a skin rash. Coincidence? Glad to had spend there only one night!
