check in smooth room was ready booked meal in bar

last breakfast on a bank holiday was 10 am - a bit early booked room service - quality and quantity of food was good with a few minor changes no sugar/salt/pepper toast was warm bread coffee v strong (pot of boiling water helpful)

Reception staff very helpful - both on the phone before our arrival and when we were there. Spotless rooms.

Our room was just above a section outside where folks gather to chat or have a cigarette so there was a bit of noise late at night. Breakfast nook was very small so could get very busy suddenly.

Breakfast was ok.

Hotel main door didn't operate, had to be pushed manually. Cleanliness of hotel not good. Carpets need refreshing. Room was dark - only 2 lights worked. It does not reflect its supposed 4 stars.
