Staybridge Suites Lansing-Okemos by IHG

Check in was great, fast and friendly. The beds very comfortable and loved the pillows. The kitchen area was very nice. The bath tub looked rusty, I would say it needs to be replaced or refinished. I might have been able to overlook that, what I can’t overlook was the lack of hot water. I reported it to the front desk and was told they had an unusual amount of kids staying that weekend and had most likely used all the hot water and to try and take my shower a bit later, I was not really happy with that answer, but it was 10:00 at night and we had to be up for a horse show early the next morning. So I had to take a very tepid shower. Not happy at all, the next day we came back early afternoon so I tried again to take a shower, no hot water again….i was ready to just check out and go find another hotel, but I really didn’t have the time to do that with the schedule we were on. We toughed it out, but for the money we paid for the room, I don’t think having hot water is too much to ask and expect, no matter the occupancy of the hotel. I have stayed at many Staybridge hotels in the past with full occupancy and have never been without hot water. I most certainly will not be staying at the Okemos hotel again. I told the desk clerk at checkout I wasn’t happy with our stay, and again she referenced the amount of kids staying, I really don’t care, I feel like the least the hotel could do was reduce the cost of our stay, but that wasn’t offered or done.

Breakfast first two days were great. One day they were understaffed so not everything was out on time but still great overall. Staff was hardworking and friendly. We will stay again if we return.

Door deadbolt was broken and back door slammed shut really hard unless super careful. This could be dangerous especially for small children.

Great for a weekend stay for my daughters horse show bonus we also go to bring our dogs!

Clean, quiet, up to date, safe area with great restaurant options, and dog friendly. I have stayed at this property many times and have had a great experience each time.

Very comfortable for a far afamily looking for a separate bedroom for the kids. Decent breakfast. High value for money.

The location was close to things we wanted to do

Upon arrival we were given a room already in use, the room we were given as a replacement had dirty dishes and clothing tags on the floor so idk if it was vacuumed, the bedding for the pull out bed was missing so we had to ask for some, the pool was closed but was not stated on the website

I think this was our first time staying at a Staybridge Suites. The room was great, the breakfast was great, and there's just one thing that would prevent me from booking at a Staybridge again. Hotels really should know better than to use perfume in their laundry! Unscented has been the industry standard forever afaik, but now that's slipping. Perfume in the room itself, even if it's just from cleaning products instead of deliberate scent, is unfortunately common, so I'm grateful when a room smells like "nothing." The room perfume was tolerable here, not that strong. But sheesh, in the sheets and towels too? If it weren't for that I would've been very happy with the place. We were only there one night and I didn't bother to complain. But while I'm complaining here, there was one more thing: this situation in the bathtub (photo below) was a bit jarring. (The bathroom "needed updating," but I rarely care about that. It was fine.) Everything else was really nice.

Friendly staff. The property was very clean and well kept quiet and cozy
