Homewood Suites by Hilton Dover - Rockaway

I like that it was quite and right across form the mall

Property exterior and interior was nice. Went to use the pool and was not impressed. Used towels everywhere and floors needed to be cleaned. Garbage on floor and also saw a bloody bandaid on floor. Pool area needs some attention and renovation.

Everything was great. Plenty of parking, friendly staff, room was much larger than I expected, breakfast was delicious with lots of options (and I'm very critical as I usually travel with a diabetic and someone who doesn't eat pork or eggs). If I had to complain about something, I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a bar/restaurant on the premises. That being said the location was VERY convenient with many shopping and restaurant options within a couple minutes car ride. I'll definitely use this hotel for any future trips to the area.

The room was spacious and clean.

Unfortunately when we arrived at the hotel to check in around 8pm their computers were down so we were not able to get into our room right away. The woman at the front desk was not very nice or apologetic about the inconvenience. Instead of assuring us that she would do her best to get us into our room as soon as possible, she made it very clear in her attitude and words that I better not complain when I asked how long she thought it would take. We had already experienced a delay getting into Newark airport and really could have used a friendly reception. They eventually were able to let us into a room but we didn't get keys until later that night. They also didn't give us any information about breakfast times or wifi so we missed breakfast by 5 minutes the next day. Also, the people in the room above us were stomping around after midnight and we could hear a dog whimpering.

Check in was quick and easy, staff was thorough and professional. Prompted me for my Hilton Honors number, which I didn't have, and they quickly looked it up for me. Facility was clean and well maintained.
