We found the beach setting idyllic after navigating the roadways of the Amalfi coast and dining at Pappone was the gastronomic highlight of our week, the seafood pasta was amazing!

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Pouco falada nos guias de turismo, massa lubrense foi sem dúvida a melhor escolha no que se refere a localização para quem deseja descansar nas praias da costa amalfitana. O hotel e familiar e fica devendo em alguns aspectos, como por exemplo agilidade no atendimento. As pessoas que fazem seu checkin são as mesmas que trabalham como garçons e lhe ajudam carregando bagagens. Acessibilidade é zero, já que se trata de um prédio muito antigo, e internet somente na área de restaurante e recepção.

Hôtel restaurant très propre et accueil sympathique. Literie et propreté de la chambre impeccable . Petit bémol la climatisation ne fonctionnait pas correctement et la chambre était mal insonoriser. Par contre les pieds dans l'eau car l'hôtel donne sur la plage avec transats gratuits. Beaucoup de restaurants autour.

I and my wife, stayed three nights at this hotel in June 2016. The room, on the second floor (67 stairs from street level (no lift!), was little and dark and was connected to the roof terrace by a corridor. The terrace was tiny, did not have place for chairs, table. It had high, thick, bricked walls. To get “see view” one had to stand tight to the wall and on tiptoe. We declined the room and were offered another room on the first floor (45 stairs from street level). This room was bigger, the “view” from this balcony was on the hotel backyard and other balconies belonging to the neighbour hotel. There are only 2 rooms at this hotel with true sea view but only with French balcony. The towels we got to cover the sunbeds were old rugs covering only half the bed. Both the hotel and the sunbeds are located at the most busiest section of the beach just where the little harbour with a pier is. Small excursion boats loaded with tourists arrive and leave all day long. This means noise from the boat engines, waves from the boats all the time and occasionally the smell of fuel. Not very pleasant condition for relaxing and to swim. The breakfast just basic. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was acceptable, not more, but overpriced. Conclusion: you pay a lot for something you do not get (balcony, sea view); you get a lot of exercise (climbing the high staircase); you can’t relax at the beach (motorboats); you eat a simple dish but pay a lot for it. Hotel La Certosa? NO, thank you!

We got a rough start, because we was not expecting a 15€ pr night extra for parking. Allesandro at the check in was welcoming. But we must say the rest of the staff was rather rude. The room was smal, with no view, and the ac was not working before late at night. The second night we told the staff about the warm room, and they just replied that it was cold outside and no need for AC. Allesandro was again helpful and turned the ac on for us. Turned out that the ac is off if no-one asks to turn it on. The location is beautiful with free beach chairs and umbrellas. Nice hikes in the area and plenty of restaurants/bars for most people.

Hotel Certosa is a small, traditional family run Italian albergho. It's simple, clean and comfortable. The location is superb - right on the beach at Marina del Cantone. The family have run the place for three generations. Everyone was so helpful and friendly and the hotels restaurant has a great chef. It was just what we wanted - good hotel, good service, good value, giving us a complete break, peace and quiet, beautiful views all around, walking, bus service, sea swimming and boating and great places to eat.

Recently returned from a short break in this delightful hotel. Situated right on the beach in Massa Lubrense, it is a little gem. We had a room with a sea view and terrace, well worth the extra money. Breakfast was an absolute feast. We ate at the hotel each evening, and the food was well cooked, honest, home cooking, wonderful. Hotel was really quiet, as out of season, but the staff were still attentive and helpful. Only thing to warn about, the hotel is over 2 floors, and as there isn't a lift, the stairs can be fairly hard work. If you want an away from it all break, I would totally recommend this hotel. Will be going back again later in the year.

Lovely place on the beach, room was very small given the available floor space was filled with our 2 bags and we booked a triple room and got a double which is why it only got 3 stars. It was very clean comfortable and had a great views of the ocean. Service was excellent. Wifi only worked a proportion of the time. The hotel has sun beds on the beach sectioned off for guests. It is a very busy beach. Food in the restaurant was superb. Parking was at the rear in a public car park and cost an additional 15 Euros a day
