"One-Night Stay, Bed Bugs, and No Accountability"

I stayed at Hotel Santa Caterina for just one night and left with about 60 painful, itchy bites — as did my daughter. The bites were consistent with bed bugs and left us both extremely uncomfortable and distressed. At first, I thought I was being bitten by Mosquitoes, but when we got home, we saw the severity and checked with our doctor. It was such a horrible feeling. The physician confirmed that they were indeed consistent with bed bug exposure, and we have this diagnosis in writing. But the reaction of the hotel was so disappointing.. It took two days for the manager to contact me, and then only to tell me that he had sent my complaint to their legal office. I had expected professionalism and concern. Instead, they denied everything, took no responsibility, and responded with a letter from their lawyer. The hotel manager did not answer my calls, and there was no attempt to contact me personally. No apology. No real investigation. No empathy. For a hotel that claims to offer a luxury experience with the prices to match, this was deeply disappointing. The whole experience put a cloud on an otherwise lovely vacation.

Charming, authentic, unforgettably beautiful! My husband and I had an amazing stay and as it was my birthday they made all possible to celebrate me and assure I was spoiled at the most !!! 🥰 Thank you very very much to the whole team, we will never forget these days in the Amalfi at Santa Caterina!

This hotel is 5-star indeed... from the beautiful grounds to the spacious thoughtfully designed rooms, to the meals! Everything is top-notch. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay very much.

"The BEST of Amalfi!"

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful position on the outskirts of Amalfi. Staff could not be more helpful or friendly. Very comfy beds with divine linen sheets, extraordinary views over the Amalfi coast. Breakfast was a delight and my gluten free daughter catered for with an array of amazing cakes and pastries. Pool area incredible with direct access to sea and attentive staff. Exceptional in every way.

Don't stay anywhere else on the Amalfi coast. You will be wasting your time and money. This is the best hotel on the Amalfi coast by far .....

The food was wonderful of course, but the service was the best we experienced the entire week. A warm welcome and very attentive. We had multiple people wait on our table. They know how to make you feel special. We definitely recommend it and we will go back.

"A once in a lifetime experience, not to be missed"

Service is impeccable. Location cannot be beat. Views for days. Several excellent dining options, including a Michelin star restaurant. And an amazing breakfast buffet to start your day. You pay for all this excellence, but it is the best place to stay in Amalfi.

Remember this hotel first opened 120 years ago. It is not modern, or grand in any physical way. More like an elegant grandparent, the one that you envied for their style.
