Hotel La Bussola

Perfect location, walking distance to the little city centre area of the Amalfi. We had a private sun lounge area with access to our own sea water seperate from everyone else visiting the coastline, so it was lovely and peaceful. Beautiful room, beautiful views, great service!

On the 3rd floor the wifi connection was pretty much non existent so nothing loads if you’e just trying to relax in the room. Only fault, everything else was perfect.

I spend an average 150 to 200 nights per year in hotels every year for the past 15 years. La Bussola has become my favorite.

My only complaint, and it’s minor, is the music played during the 5pm cocktail hour. I only visited the rooftop once, but when I did there were 3 other couples already there, and all looked to be like me, in their 60’s. The music playing was electronic, driving, a little too loud and repetitive. Needless to say all 3 tables left after one drink. My recommendation would be to play calming music, like the view. Save the electronic music for the younger crowd.

Lovely hotel right across from the water with breathtaking views of the coast. Lobby and common areas have a nice welcoming feeling. Rooms are spacious and immaculate. Towels and sheets were changed every day with a new supply of toiletries. The A/C was pretty good, although we had better in other Italian hotels. Breakfast was delicious and service impeccable. The only issue was the rooftop bar that plays loud music until 10 pm and we were on the 3rd floor so two of the three nights were a bit noisy. Aside from that it was a great place.
