Hotel Santa Caterina

The patio was our favorite place to be. It was a fantastic way to begin ( with a wonderful breakfast buffet) and end each day. The views from the patio are stunning. Such a delightful and peaceful place.

We didn't realize the bed was upstairs in a loft; not a good option for anyone with mobility issues. It was not a problem, but I was surprised that we were not aware of this.

The breakfast in the morning is fabulous. The staff at the breakfast and the night front desk were friendly and helpful. Availability of parking is nice. Availability of the patio with lovely view also very nice. City center is 15 minute walk away so location is good. I was grateful to the staff who helped me make a dinner reservation when I could not get through to the restaurant.

The front desk man when we arrived and departed was surprisingly unfriendly and bordered on rude. I wasn't in the hotel three minutes before he was telling me my car was too big for the parking lot and that I'd have to park around the corner. This happened with other things (reminding me of my dinner reservation and telling me to pay the city tax) . I left irritated because I felt like his approach was condescending. Just needs a lesson in how to say things... Also the rooms are smallish with faded bedspreads.

Das Hotel liegt unmittelbar hinter der Stadtmauer. Trotz der zentralen Lage, ist es ruhig. Das Hotel hat eine schönen Garten mit wunderbaren Ausblick in die Landschaft und verfügt über Parkplätze. Zimmer sind der Kategorie entsprechend gut. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Der Service sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Tot perfecte excepte que l'habitació en realitat es un duplex amb el bany a la planta baixa i escales molt dretes i dificils per pujar a dalt el dormitori.

Ideale Lage an der Porta Romana, wenige Gehminuten in das Zentrum von Siena. Stilvolles Zimmer, sehr freundliches Personal, herrliche Terrasse mit Blick in die Landschaft der Toskana.

Einen wunderschönes, nostalgisches Hotel! Ein Mega Ausblick über die Landschaft vom Garten aus. Es liegt direkt am Rand der Altstadt- super, weil weg vom Trubel. Trotzdem ist man gleich mit 10-15 Minuten Fußweg beim Il Campo im Zentrum. Das Hotelpersonal ist von der „alten Schule“ und sehr nett und freundlich. Ich würde immer wieder hingehen und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt, obwohl ich nur eine Nacht dort war vor meinem Start der Pilgerreise. Der Einstieg in die Via Francigena war direkt vor der Tür, am Tag zuvor bin ich angereist, mit Flug und Zug und schon am Vorabend durch Siena gelaufen und die Stadt erkundet. Im Hotel war es dann genau richtig für die Vorbereitung. Ruhig, abends im Garten gesessen, mit einem Glas Wein und die Aussicht Toskana genossen – perfekt!

Es war alles sehr schön, nur stellenweise merkt man, dass es ein altes Hotel ist, aber ich fand das genau das den wunderbaren Charme ausgemacht hat ❤️
