"CHILLING IN THE POOL WITH A GLASS OF WINE! ONE OF MY BEST SUMMER DAYS OF 2020"

10.0

· LOCATION - POOL - FOOD Rarely I spend my time reviewing anything. But this was probably the best stop of our road trip. Recommended from a friend/colleague from New Jersey who was here last year with his wife. If you are visiting Florence and the Chianti area, YOU NEED TO STOP. Villa Rosa is in a splendid location: close to Panzano which houses the restaurant/butcher shop from the most famous chef/butcher Dario Cecchini. Must see! The wineries and vineyards to visit in the are are countless: the beating heart go Tuscany! Everything in the villa has a scent of Tuscany too: from the floors to every piece of furniture. Rooms are clean and comfy and the internet connection (FREE) was surprisingly fast being that this is literally in the middle of the countryside. Also need to mention free parking right in front of the villa! The garden in the back has a very nice pool steps away from a neighboring vineyard. That was my favorite part cause I love chilling in the water with a glass of wine and the day was pretty hot. At the end, since we were tired from the day, we decided to stay also for diner (you can taste the house selection of wines and you don't have to drive, big advantage). In the back of the house there is a patio with 5 or 6 tables that was looking quite cozy. To be honest, being I am of Italian origin, I was not expecting anything special as usually most of the small hotels around here serve the "tourist menu". This was NOT the case at all! Even if the choice was not large, especially the fresh pasta with fresh tomato and basil was delicious and clearly thoughtfully chosen and cooked by someone as in love with food as I am. Staff was available and kind. They know the area very well and can suggest where to go and what to do based on your tastes...

"Nice villa and great cooking class"

10.0

We were two families that stayed two nights at Villa Rosa in August. The rooms were large as well as the terrace. Highlight of the stay was the cooking class that Sabina, the owner, organized at the farmhouse. It was fun and the food was tasty. We learned a lot. There was also a nice pool on the grounds. Sabina was very nice, informative and speaks English. She also conducts tours of the area. The villa is in the center of the Chianti region.

"Charming, Unpretentious and Beautiful"

10.0

We stayed here as part of a two day bike tour and it was an excellent place to recharge from a challenging day of cycling. The rooms were spacious with a nice balcony. The kids enjoyed taking a dip in the pool. And the dinner served on the back patio was excellent, and accompanied by very nice wine and an after dinner Limoncello. The grounds were also lovely and I would have been happy to spend more time there.

"Not family friendly"

6.0

The hotel is situated in a beautiful part of Tuscany. Be aware that if you use Google maps to navigate, it will try to take you down some impassable tracks to the back of the hotel, so be alert. Unfortunately, our stay started badly. The owner repeatedly complained about our children doing things like playing in the garden and the pool. So the place is definitely not family friendly. The cleaning service was erratic and the windows of the room don't close properly. We all got bitten by mosquitos the first night. The hotel should really put up some net curtains or mosquito repellent in the rooms. Breakfast was just about adequate. Overall ok but expensive for what we got.

Absolutely picturesque and lovely stay. Communication from staff about check in/check out and meals could have been a bit better, but they were always very nice and hospitable.

"Needs some TLC"

4.0

Two couples travelling through Tuscany, we all agreed that this Villa is in a great position for exploring the beautiful Chianti region. The sheets and towels are of a very high quality, and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen ( not a restaurant) was only open for one night out of three, but the food was delicious. The Villa and grounds are badly in need of renovation, and a good clean. We had problems with a toilet flooding and air conditioning barely operating. Website photos are misleading. On arrival, our greeting was very vague, and less than friendly. Hard to recommend based on our stay.

"Fabulous"

10.0

My wife and I visited Villa Rosa for three days in May. It was perfect. The villa is stunning with beautifully appointed rooms, dining areas and outdoor terraces. Sabina and Giancarlo could not do enough to make our stay the best. The food and wine takes the term "fine dining" to a new level. Hopefully we will someday return.

"Beautiful, Authentic Tuscan & Accommodating"

8.0

I enjoyed a wonderful stay here in July with my family visiting from the U.S. It's impossible to describe the authentic charm of the place, and the incredible views around the property. We reserved two rooms, one with a breathtaking terrace larger than my entire apartment, overlooking the Chianti hillside. The rooms were clean, and with furniture that respected the authentic tuscan nature of the villa. We decided to eat dinner there since it was so convenient for the price. One of the owners asked us what we wanted to eat for dinner which we found extremely accommodating. My three family members decided on bistecca fiorentina, and since I don't eat steak he prepared me a separate meat dish, equally as delicious. We found the appetizer and pasta dish to be very good, although slightly on the small side as far as portion size goes (even by Italian standards). However, for the price we paid we couldn't complain. We were also given wine to drink from the Vineyard literally right next door to the Villa, that was exquisite. My family really appreciated the careful care the owners pay to keeping the property updated, while also not straying too far to ruin the authenticity of the antique Tuscan villa. Overall an experience we will remember forever.
