Hotel "La Pensione Svizzera"

It was high on the hill overlooking the ocean and islands. The staff were very accommodating for holding my luggage and fulfilled my request for a view room which was lovely!

The location is amazing. Right by corso Umberto but not in it so it’s quiet to sleep at night. Also by the cable cars which is very handy. The breakfast is also really lovely for such a small hotel. Everything tasted fresh and the staff were great too.

Quite outdated rooms. Could do with a refresh.

Great location very near the heart of town and also the cable car that runs down to the Mazzarò beach area. Rooms are clean and spacious and the suite we booked had great views of the sea from the terrace. Very good price point for the area. The staff is very helpful with local suggestions and accommodating. Breakfast is very good as well and served on a patio with a beautiful view.

We were a group of 3 couples and stayed on the third floor in rooms overlooking the sea with amazing views. The location was perfect (our second visit to Taormina) as close to the bus station, cable car and the Main Street. Very clean and comfortable rooms for a hotel of this standard. Staff were so helpful and made us welcome. Breakfast was continental style with the addition of scrambled eggs and bacon but a great choice to suit all tastes. Would highly recommend and we would definitely return.

We were so happy to get a room here our last night in Taormina. Wish we spent our 3 days at this beautiful hotel. Our room was small but perfect with a large patio overlooking the ocean. Very clean and the staff is extremely welcoming. Room was quite and the bed was very comfortable .I would definitely return.

This hotel was the worst on our 2 week, hotels trip across Sicily. Because rooms tend to be smaller in Europe vs the US we booked a triple. The room was sparse at best with a college dorm fridge that didn’t get cold. We were in room # 1 on first floor outside a very busy roadway. The garbage truck woke us up at 5:30 am the first morning. The smell in the hallway was overwhelming and the were constantly bags of garbage in the hallway from the cleaning crew. The in room air conditioner was right above the bed blowing directly on us causing us, causing us both to get bad colds. The only reason this is a 2 rating instead of a 1 is the great view from the breakfast area. Also the staff was a bit gruff and nowhere near as friendly as other hotels. I would avoid this hotel.
