Hotel Royal

The staff at reception were always very friendly and helpful. The location at the lake and close to the town is great. The swimming pool and adjacent garden area were very well maintained

The decor of the rooms is very dark and gloomy with low wattage lighting making it impossible to ascertain if it is clean or dirty. The really poor aspect of the hotel is the breakfast and the attitude of the staff member in charge of it. We stayed 2 nights. We were walking the Via Francigena and wanted a rest day. We were delighted not to have to get up too early as we were told upon arrival that breakfast was until 10.30am. We therefore came down for breakfast at 9.30am. The staff member was clearly not pleased to see us. She was clearing items away. We asked for coffee and were given 2 almost cold coffees. There was scrambled egg in a cold container which had clearly been there since early morning. We asked if it would be possible to get some fresh egg but were very curtly told that the kitchen was closed. I went to reception to ask if I had misunderstood the breakfast times and the receptionist confirmed breakfast is available til 10.30. She also went into the restaurant and spoke briefly with the staff member who then confirmed as a result that she would get eggs for us. But what she did was take the cold egg to the kitchen, and obviously put it in a microwave and brought it back out warm, but completely dried up and rubbery. It was inedible. Whilst we were having other items for breakfast, by 10.00am pastries were being cleared from the counters back into storage boxes in our full view, with the waitress using her bare hands instead of gloves or tongs etc. It became a race for us just to get enough breakfast before everything was cleared away. It was a terrible experience. The second morning we came to breakfast at 8.00am. The eggs were once again completely cold so we avoided them. The same staff member was on duty and her attitude completely discouraged any questions or requests for assistance.

Io sono freddolosa e avrei voluto avere a disposizione in stanza una coperta aggiuntiva per la notte.

Voller Preis bei reduzierten Services, bei nur 3 Gästen hätte ich erwartet dass ich ein Zimmer-Update erhalten hätte

Wat een vriendelijke mensen!

Jammer dat er geen bar (open) was om sAvonds nog wat te drinken. De 1 persoons kamer is echt heel klein.
