"Forum Hotel is much better and less expensive"

4.0

BIG disappointment: 1) our "upgraded" room was so tiny there was no room for a dresser so we had to live out of our suitcases; 2) WIFI only worked - barely - in the lobby; 3) drapes on only window didn't close near ceiling so we were awakened daily by the sun in the early AM; 3) electrical plugs didn't work in bathroom or by bed; 4) no shower curtain; 5) arrogant concierge didn't give a d**n when we complained about the above.

"Located in old town close to amphitheatre"

8.0

Do not stay at this hotel if you are driving. It was a nightmare to locate in the web of very narrow one way streets to drop luggage and then a nightmare to find the parking lot which was only a five minute walk from the hotel.

"Absolutely charming!"

10.0

We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival, and our luggage was taken upstairs for us. It's true there is no elevator, but we didn't expect one in a 17th C building. We were up two flights, and we just took it slowly. Our room overlooked a small courtyard with pretty foliage. There were two single beds, and they were narrower than a normal twin. That is my only complaint about the room. Everything was clean and smelled nice. I'm chemically sensitive, so when a place smells good and doesn't trigger a reaction—only natural scents—I'm very happy. The bathroom was clean and spacious. We took nice long baths after a day of walking up and down and all around Arles! Breakfast was delicious, and served by a lovely person. Fresh-squeezed juice, breads and jam, and coffee. (We passed on the yogurt.) For $109/night, we got more than we bargained for!

"great location and friendly staff"

close to all historical sites. as you stayed in a room and enjoy the history of 2000 years rather than many places in the u.s. of about 200 years.

"Friendly staff, central location"

10.0

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room is on the smaller side but that's to be expected in the heart of such an old city. Everything was quaint and clean. Parking is available at a discounted rate in the parking deck about 5 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again.

"Charming hotel in a great location"

10.0

We had a room with a view - and what a view - across the rooftops of Arles. Hotel was charming, nicely decorated, friendly, relaxed and accommodating. It is right in the middle of the historic centre of Arles, and perfect as a base for wandering the streets, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying long, lazy lunches. Being so central, access by car is not really sensible and there is almost no street parking nearby, so its best to park in the central car park and walk up; if you've a small car you could drive up and drop your bags - we did. The hotel seems to be formed from three original town houses - these are small and it really wouldn't be possible to fit in a lift, so you do have to carry your bags up the stairs to your room; but you've only to do it once! Staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Staff went out of their way to help. Very friendly. Excellent breakfast. Bed could have been a little more comfortable but everything else was great. We enjoyed our stay of six days.

"Fabulous position in Arles old city."

8.0

We were travelling around Provence for a few days by car. This elegant hotel is in a perfect (old city) position to discover the many historical and food delights that Arles offers. Only problem with position is if you drive a larger vehicle; some of the narrow street turns are not passable. However, at hotel, you can buy at cheap rate (€10.50 instead of €17.00) a 24 hour ticket (or longer) for secure parking just outside old city. While our room was small and clean, it and other parts of the hotel are now in need of refurbishment/redecoration. Delightful hosts and good service all round. Breakfast at €8.50 good value.

"Great Place to Stay in Old Arles"

8.0

We stayed 4 nights after driving from Lyon. This hotel is old and shabby and the rooms are a little strange and up narrow round staircases, the tile and carpets and stuff are old so that it can't be properly cleaned, but the ambiance and location are wonderful and we had a great time. As others have said there is no parking in this old town of Arles and you have to park way down on the city street but the hotel can let you can get in and at least leave your luggage and will make suggestions on where to park. We were there on Saturday morning and there is a huge and wonderful street market. And you can buy a ticket that gets you into almost all of the ruins and sites for around 15 Euros. You walk down the street a couple of blocks and the Roman Arena is right there.
