Quite a small room but suitable for one night - no air con but a fan was present. Hotel is close to the centre, albeit at the bottom of the city walls so uphill walking is frequent.

We were very happy to stay in Hotel Sant Ercolano. We had been staying in another budget place the night before for the same price which was out of town. We ended up paying 30€ more than the price on taxis and suffering very unfriendly staff. Sant Ercolano is right in the centre, a few meters from the minimetro, walking distance from almost everything, close to museums, restaurants, bars, late night cafes and the staff were REALLY friendly and helpful. The decor is outdated and the bathroom was tiny but very useable. It is the perfect location for a couple on a budget not looking for luxury. There is also free WIFI. Stay there if you don't mind a shabby but convenient and reasonably comfortable place which will really save you money.

The hotel is nicely situated just a short 5mn walk from the main thoroughfare. Don't be surprised however if your taxi drops you off a couple streets away as it's difficult to maneuver by car within the old city. The hotel is very simple. The reception is nice and the rooms are very clean. The beds were uncomfortable and the maintenance of the bathrooms poor. We could hear the drip drip of the running toilet all night long. The noise though was the real downfall of this place. Our room was on the street and we could hear the children running by in the morning, the trash collector, the opening of steel grates, the washing machine upstairs, the high heels across our celing, running water, the works! After 2 nights of sleeplessness, we asked for a different room and we got one. I thought that was very nice. Because of the heat, all the windows of our neighbors (local residents) were open, so you could hear the soccer game, the talking in the kitchen, the screams of joy, and of course the leaky faucet. We slept even worse. When departing, I mentioned that perhaps getting double paned windows would be a bonus. They suggested next time we take the third floor. Next time? Why didn't they reco it for this time? Nice people, overall clean place, skimpy towels (more like restaurant knapkins), very affordable, but TOO LOUD.

This is a very friendly hotel with great staff right in the heart of beautiful Perugia. We arrived late at night after having our bags stolen and they really helped us out. Just a few short steps to all the sights. We really enjoyed our stay.
