Hotel Carolina

Carolina was very accommodating with my late check in (train delay). It is always pleasant to stay here and the restaurant downstairs is very good. Convenient location and a welcoming feel tot he hotel, more of a boutique hotel than a 2 star.

I'm incredibly pleased with my stay at Hotel Carolina. Prior to checkin, they messaged me via Hotels.com to ask about my arrival time. This was great so that I knew they were expecting me and I could give them details on my expected arrival time. I later realized this was because this is a family run business and they did not have someone at the reception desk 24/7 - they do have a sign with contact info. I agree with other reviewers that the reception area had a light smell of cigarette smoke. The 2 dogs are adorable, an older one and a much younger, more barky dog. Check in was efficient. My room wasn't yet ready as I was checking in prior to the official time, however within 20 minutes, I was allowed to bring my luggage to the room. There is an elevator, once you lug your bags up to the first floor reception area (2nd floor if you're an American). My bed was comfortable enough for the price. The a/c worked great - while it was mid October, it was still warm. There was a fridge in the room. I stayed in Room 11 - it overlooked the back of the hotel, so not much of a view, but the light was great. The shower door was fragile and took some care to open/close. Shampoo/shower gel combo provided, so bring your own conditioner at a minimum and perhaps your own shower gel and/or shampoo if you like higher end products. The soap bar for the sink to wash hands was a bit gritty. Cleaning forgot to leave me towels one day, but I reported it and towels were delivered.

Great hotel in a great location. It exceeded my expectations, it was clean, and close to everything in Cannes, I would definitely stay there again,

No elevators till reception , you have to carry your leagues a longs steep stairs Rooms are so small

Thr owner, I imagine it is Carolina herself was very kind and accommodating, she actually allowed us a late check out and an early check in, which was extremely helpful Great location as well, room was cute - definitely recommend it!
