Windsor Hotel

Great!

Although charming, the hotel is in need of some renovation. To enter, you already have to lug your suitcase up 7 steps and push open a massive double door. At the front desk, most staff are friendly and particularly Jeroen from the Netherlands deserves a big compliment. We asked and were given a quiet room, called L'Oiseau de Feu. A small lift (just big enough for 2 slim people, 1 suitcase and 1 hand luggage) took us to the 4th floor. Although not to be called small, the room was oddly arranged. There was a baggage bench on which the hand luggage just fitted; the large suitcase had to be placed on the floor. To the left of the twin beds was the television on the fridge. You had to turn the screen briskly (and hope the TV wouldn't fall on the floor) to see anything. Furthermore, there were only French channels, whereas you could at least expect BBC News (for your information: we are Flemish-speaking Belgians who know French). The bathroom was incredibly small and impractical: if you sat on the toilet, your knees almost touched the wall.There was only ceiling lighting and a make up mirror was missing. Using the shower also required some degree of dexterity. Both the bedroom and bathroom were tidy, though. Having breakfast on a terrace in the garden is always delightful. Yet here, too, there are some points of concern: the wicker club chairs are low and not comfortable to have breakfast in. Here and there, the reeds have come loose and prick your skin. The breakfast provided has no variety: every day the same type of pastries, bread, toppings. In terms of fruit - besides melon - you can get an ordinary apple, orange or green kiwi, whereas in southern France you might expect a peach, cherry or strawberry. To finish, I would like to mention the unfresh toilets for guests on the ground floor: in the men's toilet, there was no toilet paper and soap available; in the restroom for the disabled, there were strings of toilet paper on the floor. We have noticed this on 2 different nights and I find this not acceptable. Consequently, I am rather disappointed with The Windsor Jungle Art Hotel.

A home from home in Nice. This time we stayed in ‘Venice’ a large room with a balcony and view of the garden and pool. The breakfast is very good and varied but needs to be monitored better as guests had to ask for coffee / eggs to be replenished. Thanks and appreciation to the friendly helpful staff. I still miss the rocket soundtrack in the lift though…

What a great hotel, perfect location and the staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. Food was very good and the evening dinner options were superb very “Gucci” Rooms were big enough and very comfortable Would definitely stay here again, was within walking distance of everything you could want or need.

What a charming hotel! The location is fantastic - near everything, but a bit off the beaten path to allow for a quiet, restful stay. The jungle courtyard is lush and lovely. The room was large! I appreciated the eclectic art throughout the hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was a great stay all around.

more a 3*- rooms not v clean, brown carpet stained, toilet seat broken, light bulbs not replaced, tiny lift & not working on some days, lots of steps upon arrival so difficult to carry cases in. The garden was v over grown & dark & uninviting, pool cold & v small none of these were used as in v shaded areas. Even reception was dark & untidy! Hotel in a good area however this hotel was v expensive & over rated.

The service and staff are great The room was quite poor

Not a 4* star hotel, very rundown/ dilapidated, our room had a small window in it , carpets ( abrown one) had an odour & badly stains on it. The room was not vacuumed so we asked ? there was a tiny bathroom for 1 person to fit in!! The garden was v v overgrown & all shade/ oppressing ( small & 5 /6 sunbeds) so if u did want a dip in the v small pool you cannot dry off in the sunshine!! The lift was extremely small for 2 ppl only & a case & was also out of order so we used the staff lift. Upon checking out the man attempted to charge us for a breakfast that we did not have!! we explained we have never had anything in the hotel & his reply was “ my colleague says we did”!! & so he tried to charge us!! every-morn we went out at 10 ish for pancakes, yoghurt etc & also bought from supermarket U next door. Consider your payments re a 4 * city tax rather than 3 *. On a positive note the staff are great & informative & helpful. Towels changed daily too. Great location.

Our stay at the Windsor Hotel was the final night of a three week vacation in Southern France. We found the Windsor to be the perfect choice. Our room was clean, quiet and spacious. The hotel is in an excellent city location for shopping and dining. It is about a 15 minute ride to the Nice Airport. Surprisingly, our bed at the Windsor was the most comfortable of our entire vacation. We were well rested for our return back to the US the next day. Kudos to all staff here, as well. They were an upbeat, well informed team, much appreciated.

This is maximum 3 stars, such a poor hotel vibes, room so small, bathroom literally in the same room as the bed, very small bathroom and 0 privacy. So embarrassing, I’ve never been to a worst 4 stars hotel in France.
