Villa Dei Misteri

L’accoglienza è fantastica. Abbiamo avuto problemi che non riguardavano la struttura ma la nostra macchina e anche se non era compito loro hanno cercato di aiutarci a risolvere. Personale veramente eccezionale. I bagni in camera pulitissimi e ho amato la vasca per il bagno.

Magari per la colazione suggerisco qualche miglioramento riguardo alla quantità, sembrava che le porzioni non fossero sufficienti per tutti, specialmente riguardo agli affettati. Alcune persone sono abituati a mangiare le uova o la frutta la mattina e questo non era una possibilità.

La proximité avec le site de Pompéi. Le parking gratuit.

L’hôtel est vraiment vieillot. Fissure dans le plafond et les murs, fenêtre et Clim jaune, lit très très dur, l’eau chaude qui met 15mn à venir et qui est tout juste tiède. Pas de pression d’eau. Des poignées de meuble cassée. Il faudrait penser à faire le minimum pour le garder en état ou alors ne pas facturer la nuit aussi chère juste parceque c’est à côté du site de Pompéi. Le petit déjeuner a fuir, juste du saucisson et du fromage et des croissants. Aucune variété. Payer 280€ pour 3 nuits pour ça, ce n’est pas acceptable. De plus le personnel est gentil mais l’hôtel est à l’abandon et sans âme et vraiment très vieux. Vraiment décevant pour le prix

We stayed at Hotel Villa dei Misteri for 3 nights while visiting Pompeii and Sorrento, booking 3 rooms as a group. The biggest positive is the location. It’s ideal for visiting the Pompeii ruins and close to the train station, which made getting around easy. However, it’s quite a walk into the town itself, and there’s very little around the hotel in the evenings. In hindsight, I would recommend staying in the town instead, where there’s much more atmosphere, restaurants, and things to do at night. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was a real let-down. It feels like a 1970s holiday hotel that hasn’t really been updated since. Even allowing for it being out of season (the pool was drained), the overall condition and feel were disappointing. The rooms were very dated, with tired furniture and old blankets that really need replacing. Basic amenities were missing - no fridge, no kettle, and no tea or coffee facilities, which you would normally expect. The biggest issue by far was the bathroom setup. The rooms are advertised as having a bath/shower, but in reality, it’s just a handheld shower head attached to the bath taps, with no wall bracket to mount it. This means you can’t actually stand and shower properly. Three days without a proper shower is not acceptable and definitely not what we paid for. The bath itself didn’t inspire confidence either, with marks that looked like cigarette burns, which didn’t help the overall impression of cleanliness. Heating was another issue - it didn’t work, and instead there were small electric heaters placed in the rooms, which felt like a temporary fix rather than a proper solution. Overall, while the location is convenient for the ruins, the condition of the hotel, lack of basic facilities, and misleading shower setup really let it down. It might suit someone looking for a very basic base, but for us it didn’t meet expectations. There are much better options - stay in the town instead.
