Location was good, close to old town. Hotel wasvery quiet at night.Tram stop nearby which enabled easy access to main attractions in Bilbao and also to main bus station and metro..Friendly staff at reception gave us great tips on how to get around Bilbao.

Hotel has no bar or restaurant which was major disappointment. Room was nice and had air con but corridors and bathroom had none which in high 30 degree heat was a struggle. Shower over bath was dangerous- nothing to hold onto getting in/out. Coffee/Tea machine in breakfast room and toaster were poor. Hotel is beside old town, parts of which were filthy and full of rubbish . We arrived at hotel late on a Saturday evening and went looking for a place to eat - very hard to find anywhere open and the area we were in was full of young people drinking . Strong smell of weed in the area also, so avoid on a Saturday. Peculiar set up in Old Town as regards bars/ restaurants. Some closed early and some seemed to cater only for tapas at lunchtime. We were there for 5 nights, but really 3 would have been enough. Recommend a trip by metro to a suburb called GETXO - lovely spot with beach and some nice cafes. Get travel card called Barik at kiosk at airport for 13 euro- covers your bus into central Bilbao and use on tram and metro
