Good bathroom, even had a shelf to put things on. Room too small for the price, one of those rooms where one of you had to sit on the bed whilst the other moved about, case rack had to go along side bed so difficult to get in and out , clothes storage inadequate

Staff a bit sullen, resteraunt no atmosphere, after a month in the dordogne food and prices of dinner over rated Breakfast poor selection

Staff were very pleasant. Dinner in the restaurant was good quality and served with helpful advice. Breakfast was fine. Shower and bathroom facilities were good and there was plenty of hot water for washing and showers. All the facilities were clean and well looked after. Parking was easy. The garden looked wonderful, and if the weather had been better, we'd have made good use of it. Sadly, the rain and cold wind drove us indoors.

Slight smell of drains around some parts of the property, not completely disguised by the disinfectant used as part of the room cleaning before we arrived. Bathroom was spotless, so absolutely no issues with cleanliness. The remainder of the hotel was also spotless, so can't understand where the slight smell originated. Automated email message to us the day before we arrived said that rooms were available from 3pm. Initial booking said check in from 5pm. We changed our plans and arrived shortly after 3pm, but check in was not open until 5pm. A bit of a communications problem there, I suspect. No big deal, but a bit misleading. We could have spent more time in Chartres on our way, if we'd realised 3pm was wrong. Because of the unseasonal cold weather (June!), it would also have been nice to have been able to switch on heating for a while, as the room was chilly.

We informed proprietors of a delayed arrival of 30 mins due to a car breakdown but no food available when we got there.
