Logis Hôtel Au Tambour

Super nice owners. Very quiet. This was the perfect place to land after arriving in Paris very jet-lagged.

A good 20 mins walk to the centre, but this little hotel was lovely. The welcome and service was exceptional and, despite being a little dated, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and well worth the additional €11. Would stay again if we were passing through Reims.

Although small the décor was lovely, the bed comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities, nice toiletries, even a nail file. Breakfast was unspectacular

Our room refrigerator was broken so we moved to a new room. The shower backed up and flooded the bathroom and ran into the bedroom. Later in the afternoon when we returned the room smelled horrible and the AC made noises. No one offered any suggestions to move to another room that didn’t smell and no one offered any recompense for our horrible experience. Also, the breakfast offered warm milk to drink with cereal and the coffee was very bitter. No choice in type of coffee. Breakfast was too expensive @ 11 e per person.

Nice small hotel in a quiet are of Reims - about 10 minutes walk from the train station ( away from the center of town). We were here to visit the Mumm Champagne caves and again within walking distance. The staff were lovely and we dropped our bags off the day we arrived and left them there all day before we returned to Paris. I'd visit again and hopefully be able to use the pool or Hammam.

Nice hotel, some noise from the next room, very good full breakfast (eggs, hot chocolate, cheese, charcuterie (hot and cold), coffee, fruit, yogurt. New bathroom. Quiet neighborhood.

Based upon the reviews we had read before we booked we knew the hotel was a considerable walk to the central part of the city, so were not surprised about that. The only negative we had was we needed to drive our car to see a site that was too far to walk and upon returning to the hotel around 8:30 pm we found the parking lot full and all the street parking for blocks around was bumper to bumper with no places to park. We ended up parking in a spot that was partially blocking a driveway but had no choice. The car was fine in the morning, no nasty notes on windshield, and we were able to move it to a open spot when another car left. We made sure to not loose our parking spot by walking that day. Overall the hotel was very nice. The highlight for us was the breakfast we had each morning. It did cost extra but was very good not to mention there were no restaurants nearby.

If you want a cheap, clean hotel and with nice,helpful people running it, this is excellent. The drawback is that the area needs renovation and there is not much you can easily walk to.

We stayed for one night at Au Tambour Hotel in Reims and enjoyed our time there. The room we had was very clean and there were a number of amenities in the room i.e. fridge, coffees, hairdryers, fancy soaps etc. The bed was very comfortable, but a small double so if you're 6 foot plus you may want to request a large bed when booking. There's a nice swimming pool on site while the breakfast served in the morning was great. The staff were also very friendly and were happy to help with any queries we had. It's worth noting there are other hotels closer to the heart of Reims and it took around 20-25 minutes to walk to the main area, that said if you're driving there's plenty of parking nearby making it highly convenient.
