The interior of the B & B is absolutely beautiful. The room has a large sitting room besides a nice bedroom. The owner lives there and breakfast is served in a gorgeous living/dining room in her home. The breakfast was good, but mainly sweet, no cheese, meat or eggs. Parking in Palmero is very difficult, traffic is horrendous, and to follow directions and find street signs is next to impossible. GPS is absolutely necessary and even with it, it's a nightmare. Personally, I would avoid Palermo at all costs but if you must go there Ai Cartari is a great place.

Initially difficult to find as not advertised as a B&B on the outside of the building, we were just greeting by a locked door and a choice of 5 or 6 doorbells, none of which say the owner's name. Once we gained access we were amazed at how spacious the building was inside. The location was superb, right on the edge of the historic, picturesque, bustling part of the city. Breakfast was fit for a king, far too much for 2 people. My only complaint would be the fact that we could not adjust the air conditioning in the apartment. The building temperature was controlled by the owner for the whole building and being Italian she obviously didn't find the temperature too hot, unlike us poor Brits who were wilting in the heat.

The Ai Cartari B&B is such a beautiful place. Rosi was the kindest host, providing me with good information and ideas for my visit to Sicily and an absolutely fantastic breakfast every morning. The place is wonderful - made me feel like I was staying in a hidden castle (but it's actually an old factory); very atmospheric. Highly recommended!

Ai Cartari is brilliantly located, very spacious, charming, and good value. Rosi put on the most incredible spread for breakfast each morning; the table was groaning! Our favourite restaurant, Antica Foccaceria, is just around the corner, and all the sights are in walking distance. A terrific B&B!

This B&B has a lot of charm and character. The location is great. The owner is lovely and provided an amazing breakfast. She even made us home-made banana bread one morning. I would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Palermo.

Très agréable séjour au centre de Palerme. Les principaux monuments sont accessibles à pied. Nous avons reçu un très bon accueil.

Very convenient. The room (suite) was quite nice, roomy, and quiet. The signora was helpful and recommended an osteria close by that offered very fine regional cuisine. She arranged for a taxi very early in the morning to get us to the airport. In general, I have no reason to return to Palermo except when flying in and out, but the B&B will be my first option in any case.

Ai Cartari B&B is a wonderful place to stay and discover Palermo and neighboring areas, such as the cathedral of Monreale. As a party of four, we found the B&B comfortable, centrally located, and well worth recommending to others. The decor of the house was wonderfully eclectic and full of antiques. Our "room" was actually two rooms -- one with a queen-size bed and one with two twin beds -- with two bathrooms. Super convenient, as we were there with our two children. Beds were comfortable. Rooms have air conditioning, which was great, as the weather was hot and Palermo does have mosquitoes. Breakfast was continental style and delicious, with fresh fruit and many pastries or cakes, some baked by the owner, who was friendly and always willing to accommodate special tastes. She also was extremely helpful in directing us to local restaurants for dinner that served traditional Sicilian foods. She also arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport when we arrived -- so convenient and helpful after our long trip. It is easy to walk from Ai Cartari to many of the sights in Palermo, so we only rented a car one day. Visitors should be aware that there is no onsite parking, though we had no problem parking in a near-by square -- that might have been beginner's luck.

This is an outstanding place to stay: central, yet quiet; comfortable and roomy. Superb personal, yet discreet attention from Rosalie who is happy to share her knowledge and opinions of the city. Great breakfasts; especially enjoyed the homemade pannacotta, and the jams. Highly recommended.
