The Originals Access, Hôtel Le Beaulieu

Arrived late, clean average size room for price. No restaurant but three next to building. Treat it as a motel to break up long journey.

We wanted to stay the night in La Rochelle before moving on to our gite. We couldn't get anywhere more central so opted for this. It is in a shopping/industrial estate area but there are 3 restaurants right beside the hotel so it is fine. The hotel has the basic requirements but is functional only, no refinements. The guy behind the desk was helpful and the place was clean and tidy and breakfast was again functional but adequate.

If you are looking for a vacation hotel in the La Rochelle area, the location and cleanliness would not make this an appropriate choice. The staff were friendly and the room was in good condition, however, there was mold in the bathroom. If you are on a short business stay or looking for a single night for cheap in the area, this would be an appropriate hotel.

This hotel was a stopover on our way south, but while room satisfied the short stay, the location in a commercial/retail precinct was not an area we would recommend for stays in La Rochelle

HOTEL IS SITUATED IN A VAST RETAIL PARK JUST OFF N11. THE HOTELS.COM MAP IS INCORRECT AND SHOWS THE HOTEL ON THE WRONG SIDE OF N237. YOU GET A DISCOUNT IN THE RESTAURANT NEXT DOOR.
