L'Aiguille du Midi

We had a comfortable stay in this family run hotel. Our room had great views. The hotel restaurant had good value for money, and appeared to be popular with staying guests. The hotel is several kilometers outside of central Chamonix, which may be a significant drawback depending on what you plan to do.

Great stay here, fantastic staff and good sized room with great view of the mountains. About a 30 min. walk from town was the only real downside.

We stayed here a few days in early February 2014, and found the staff to be very polite and helpful. Our room was updated and clean. The restaurant within is top notch: great menu and great food alike; the kitchen was able to accommodate a vegan diet nicely! The sports room for storing ski equipment, and the boot dryers were a big perk for us! The spa, sauna, and gym are squeezed into the basement, but serve their purposes. We watched some Olympics in the bar, while enjoying wine from a bottle we ordered at a previous meal. There was a bus stop and a train stop a very short walk away to access the rest of the valley. We would definitely return to this hotel in the future, and would recommend to anyone that this place is worth considering.

Lovely family run hotel where the staff are really friendly and helpful. Great position - quiet yet so close to train and bus that with free transport card supplied at hotel that you don't need a car. There are plenty of walks to be done immediately from the hotel. Breakfast is magnificent - a huge variety of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, freshly squeezed orange, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, delicious French bread, variety of home-made jams, cakes and pastries. Such a good breakfast makes for a good day on the ski slopes or walking in the mountains. 4 or 5 course dinner is excellent too. The views of Les Bossons glacier and the Aiguille du Midi from many rooms in the hotel are incredible. For summer there is a pool and tennis court as well as table tennis and billboards. In the winter there is plenty of room to dry boots and clothes. We have had two marvellous stays at this hotel and will definitely be going back!

The hotel was lovely and had a great restaurant. The staff couldn't do enough for you and the views of mont blanc from the room were amazing. Even had british channels on the tv. Would love to stay again.

It's a very nice hotel with beautiful views. The family who run it make an effort to make you feel welcome. Good food so try the restaurant.

We had a standard room which was quite basic but had a comfortable bed. It also had a stunning view of Mont Blanc and the Aiguille de Midi from the window. The hotel has a sauna and a jacuzzi which can be quite busy. It also has table tennis and pool tables and a lounge for relaxing. One of the highlights is the restaurant which combines beautifully presented dishes with excellent service. There is not much to visit in the immediate surroundings but as we had a car we could easily reach the ski resorts of Les Houches and Chamonix.

Very happy with our stay in Chamonix - took a little while to find the hotel Aguille du Midi but from the moment we stepped through the front door we knew it would be a great weekend. Friendly, fun staff, great French food, cosy bar, beautiful room, great views and easy access to the mountains. Will return for sure.
