Swiss-Chalet Merlischachen - Romantik Schloss-Hotel am See

Location on the lake Luzern with some beautiful views. The interior decor of the hotel was like a medieval castle. Easy access to the bus stop and slightly strenuous uphill walk to Merlichachen train station. Wifi included.

With four months of advance booking, the staff had not done the pre-planning to give us two rooms side-by-side in spite of knowing we are traveling with children. Upon arrival, they made accommodations to give us rooms next to each other but we had to give up our lake-facing room. They gave us rooms 152 and 153 and 152 and both were smaller in square feet than what we paid for. Stand-up shower in 152 was so small that a normal 5'5" person would keep bumping the elbow against the glass panel. The rooms don't have A/C and we had to sleep in 80F heat for two nights. On the third night they provided fans for both rooms. Water and soft drinks were only provided in one of the room upon arrival. The bathroom sink drain in the 152 was leaking badly. We notified manager and it was patch-fixed the next day. They did not put a new drain stopper when they repaired leaving an open drain hole where one can easily loose a piece of jewelry. Very bad experience overall and if there is a way to file a complaint and get part of the money back, I would.

La locazione e la struttura era molto bella.

Arrivo in camera… : 1. Idro-massaggio non funzionante (è stato riparato, fortunatamente) 2. Macchina del caffè funzionante con difetto di perdita d’acqua… non è stata sostituita ne la guarnizione, ne la macchina stessa. 3. Frigobar non funzionante : bevande calde con poca varietà Delusione per quanto riguarda qualità/prezzo… ci si aspetta che le cose (elencate sopra) siano funzionanti per questo prezzo…

Das Jaguarzimmer hat uns Überrascht. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Das essen war sehr lecker Direkt am See

A very nice hotel, loved staying here. I had a lovely room with a beautiful view of the lake. I also had a fantastic dinner in their restaurant, though a bit expensive. But, that is all of Switzerland from what I understand.
