ROESLI Guest House

The staff were really friendly and helpful, check in was easy and we were grateful to get straight in. Its a flat 10min walk to the train station. The location is brilliant for access to restaurants, sights and shopping. Having access to the pool, sauna and mini spa in their hotel was a godsend as we were there during the pre-summer heat wave.

We were in room 831 at the top of the stairs and it was so hot we struggled to sleep. As it's converted attic space the heat gets trapped up there. The room has a window but due to the way the room faced there was zero breeze and we needed to leave our room door open to try to get air movement. The room is not air-conditioned (which we knew) and the staff made desk top oscillating fans available but with 5 people in the room the heat was awful. I think they need to seriously consider installing an aircon for this room to be suitable for use in warmer weather. Also note there are 3 flights of stairs to get to the top so just a note if you have lots of luggage.

The location, the always-available free coffee, and the gentleman who welcomed us at the reception on the first day (he was very friendly and informative) were all great.

The rooms are a bit outdated, but they are good for the price and location.

No lift was an issue. Carrying luggage to the top was difficult. My wife had a tough time.

Great location, nice pool and friendly.

The price is hard to swallow.
