Hotel Bellevue - Traditional Swiss Hideaway

The mountain view from our balcony was absolutely amazing. It was exactly what we wanted to see. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the train station with scenic views the whole way. The staff was very friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you’re happy. The lounge and outdoor patio were peaceful and cozy. It is not a new hotel so the rooms are not modern like what you’d find in a bigger city. This shouldn’t be a problem unless you are a picky person. We had the 5 course dinner and it was amazing. The included breakfast is great too. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I searched for the best mountain view in Wengen and people were recommending Hotel Bellevue. It lived up to the expectation!!! The pictures below are from our balcony. Upon arrival the staff was very helpful with recommending activities for us. Take the gondola (5 minute walk) up to Männlichen and do the 1.5 hour Panorama hike. Amazing views!!

An amazing stay, comfortable room with a fantastic view, we stayed on the balcony for hours enjoying it with wine and snacks. The only downside to the service was minor; they wouldn't give us wine glasses to enjoy our own wine on our balcony, they said only for wine we bought from them, this seemed a bit petty.

The Hotel is in an excellent location with an incredible view! They have a wonderful porch area, tea room, and dinning room that all have the same view!! You get to eat breakfast, and dinner if you chose, looking out at the valley with 72 waterfalls (4-5 visible from the hotel). It's amazing!!!

The view is spectacular! Town is spectacular! Has a lot of kids oriented activities. Room is very basic. We had a bath tub so our bathroom was a little bigger than our friend's - they had a tiny shower. Breakfast was good: 3 selections of meat, breads, cheeses, cereals, yogurts, fruit. Would be nice to have vegetables and fish. We didn't feel welcomed by the owner that All other reviews were raving about. Maybe because we didn't speak German. Our friends got the same impression. She was very short with us and very controlling. It does spoil vacation a bit. She refused to give us a ride half way up the hill to the train station so we could walk down the hill through the town one last time before leaving. Her expalanation was: it was not worth their time which didn't make sense as half trip would be less trouble for them. If I was to stay in Wengen again, I would look for a different hotel on the same strip. Lift to Munlichen and 1.5 hr walk from Munlichen to Kleine Schedeg is spectacular. Way better and less cramped than going up the Schilthorn. If I had to choose between 2, I would do Munlichen.

A beautiful hotel in absolutely excellent surroundings. Views wonderful. Hotel 10 minutes walk from station but staff happy to provide transport. Staff always available and very helpful.

Rooms are basic, clean and comfortable. Food, both breakfast and dinner, is above average. Pay for mountain view, this makes the experience at the hotel. Would go back and stay there again.
