Hotel Walter au Lac is located right at the boulevard along Lake Lugano. We had front view rooms, which was a great plus. Insulation was great, so it wasnt noisy. And the airconditioning worked very well. Breakfast was good, served in a very classy breakfast area. The hotel feels very nice, with a classical style, fitting the 'posh' Lugano style very well. The room was good enough overall and value for money is good, given the steep Lugano prices.

Reception feels a bit weird (small, not very welcoming). Front office staff was OK. The room could have been a tad larger. And bathroom, incl. shower are in need of a small redo. We arrived in Lugano with the Bernina Express bus from Tirano. That's a beautiful trip. Lugano with it's beautiful lake are spectacular are very much worth a visit. It's clean, safe, beautiful and .... with steep Swiss prices :))) The Funicolare (a cable tram) to Monte Bre is worth doing, with a stunning view over the city and lake.

The receptionists were unhelpful, not interested, so embrssing. The rooms are so small and poorly designed. The photographs on booking.com do not realistic. We have two single beds in our room, and slept seperate with my wife. The other rooms are so tiny that the shower is inside the room.

Die Lage mit Sicht auf den See ist top! Das Einzelzimmer war gross genug mit einem 120cm Bett und Balkon. Das Frühstück war gut und das Personal sehr aufmerksam. Ich komme bestimmt wieder!
