I liked everything

Location is wonderful, hotel is located directly by the lake, which gives you amazing views. Staff in the hotel is greatly helpful, friendly and really taking care of their guests - it is highly appreciated. Breakfast was nice, offering the wide options of food.

The room was considered as "Mini Suite", but honestly I do not understand where from came this name as it was just a very small standard room with basics - bed, small sofa, small armchair and small table with chair. The decoration of the room is just very basic, nothing special at all. We had direct access to the lake from the balcony, which is definitely great in summer period (but not having added value in November, but thanks for that, of course). The dinner - I understand there are people that appreciate this "high cousin" kind of dining, but I did not get few things - the small portions of courses being served in almost 2 hours which created the space for wondering what is the reason of constant waiting for next course (and by the faces expressions of other guests this was not only our feeling....); food being served on the battered plates (but maybe I am too basic to understand such a high niveau of dining culture..), there was only one menu for all the guests. I would also expect that by having a "half board" - hotel would offer some afternoon snack for hotel guests (as the other comparable level of other hotels do for their guests included in half board) SPA - hotel offers only the sauna (included in price of stay) and the different type of massages, which of course comes at additional costs. I would expect to have other spa options like at least some hot tub or small pool.

Location has beautiful view. The room is very modern and nice. Breakfast is extensive and good.

We wish they had more dinner options other than just one set menu.

Die Unterkunft ist ein wenig zu teuer

We spent five days at "Das Traunsee" in order to go hiking in the Salzkammergut. The hotel is located at the lake "Traunsee" with a beautiful view onto the water and the mountains from the rooms, the spa and the dining rooms. A gourmet restaurant is located in the hotel ("Bootshaus") and so the half board is exceptionally good. We have never eaten so well in a hotel. Lukas Nagl and his team use local and seasonal products to create delicious meals. If you like fish, this is the place to go. The spa is also really beautiful with super views to the lake. If you feel like it, you can jump into the lake after going to the steam bath or the sauna. Our stay was perfect although the weather was not good. So we definitely will come back soon!
