Great service. We came 1 day early, but the the owner didn't mind making our room ready while we waited a short while.

You don’t actually stay in the chateau, but in side building , no hot water in the evening. Breakfast way overpriced for few pastries

We were delayed on our journey and the hosts were accommodating about us arriving late. Communication pre arrival was timely. Host was friendly on arrival. We had eaten before arrival so did not use the cooking facilities but had breakfast in the main property the next day which was simple but perfectly adequate for our needs. Water pressure in shower excellent and plenty of hot water for a showers. Powerful air conditioning. Plenty of space for our family of 5. Good children's play area (although you need to be very switched on with young children as there is a large unfenced moat surrounding the main property and adjacent to the play area - play area is fenced but gate not secure).

Unfortunately there seems to be a problem with bed bugs. We were bitten several times during the night and inspection of the sheets and underneath the mattress showed evidence of bugs. Fortunately as this was a one night stay on our way back to Calais then England we only took a small case inside. Nevertheless there has been a lot of hot washing needed on our return and freezing of our bags to ensure we have not brought any bugs back to our home! We stayed in Le Cidrerie, separate from the main house. Accommodation was functional for our needs. Cleaning could be improved. There were dried crusty sponges left by the kitchen sink and some door handles broken in the kitchen, as well as a broken fridge door. Insides of kitchen cupboards grimy. Bunk beds very wobbly. There were 3 very strong smelling plug in air fresheners in place when we got in which was overpowering (but to be fair I don't like air fresheners - someone else might have not found this to be a problem). After unplugging these and leaving the windows open for a while it was fine.
