"Awesome Awesome hotel"

10.0

Catarina and Ignacio are phenomenal!!! They are extremely accommodating and their breakfast was awesome! There is no AC, but we went in September and the cool night air was perfect and there is also a fan in the room. They speak pretty good english and always ask if they can do anything to make your stay better, how you slept, etc. The other huge positive was Catarina drove us to Sorrento one morning! What B&B owner goes out of their way that much? Thanks again Catarina! The only minor negatives, and I didn't knock any stars off because they were minor was the shower wasn't draining and normally you were ankle deep in water. I brought this up to Catarina and she did have someone out to fix it, but it didn't solve the problem. No worries though, we survived! The only other down side is the distance from Sorrento. It was our fault, we didn't have a car and relied on public transportation, but when you look at a map it looks like such a small distance. You have to take the public bus, then train to Sorrento. It wasn't that bad though and we enjoyed it! Overall 5/5, thanks again and hopefully we can come back!

"This place grows on you each day"

8.0

Overall fantastic experience. The hosts are incredible, Ignazio and Caterina are so sweet and accommodating. They told us about their home, their garden, their families, the history of the area. All in hopes to enhance our stay. The place is a bit difficult to find if you are unfamiliar, but Ignazio met us on the main road and guided us up the mountain to the residence. At first, this can be a very intimidating drive. You must take a very winding road, which is extremely narrow in some parts to get to the residence. After several times, we timed the drive to the top and it takes approx 12-13 minutes to go up/down. However, being a bit isolated on the hill is very relaxing and a gorgeous view. If there is anything negative, it is only the drive as it can cause anxiety if you are nervous about very curvy and narrow roads. However, it was quite a fund drive after getting used to it. The best part is, it is very clean place with a nice large bathroom. The terrace is amazing, the fresh breakfast is great, and gardens surrounding the home are beautiful, and the views are refreshing. The bedroom we stayed in is very basic, and the beds are not as comfortable as most but still sufficient. We were there in very hot temperatures - over 35 degrees each day. But the room stayed cool enough to not be a big issue as there is no A/C.

"Incredibly welcoming, tranquil room near Sorrento"

10.0

After some intial trouble finding the B&B, we eventually arrived at around 10pm. We were welcomed by Ignacio who, despite how late it was, took the time to give us advice on the surrounding area and presented us with walnuts from the garden and pineapple juice. The room was fairly basic but extremely clean with a stunning view of the area from the window, with a big double bed and a spare single bed in the corner. Breakfast was delicious & plentiful, local foods served by Caterina and her daughter on the picturesque terrace. Caterina was absolutely lovely - finding us adaptors for the room, making sure we had more than enough food, giving us directions to the best local beaches and generally making us feel very welcome. It was a little further than Sorrento than we expected, but that was our mistake for not looking up exactly where it was before booking. I would definitely go back as Caterina and Ignacio were some of the nicest people I've encountered on my travels, and the accommodation is incredibly reasonably priced!

"A peaceful retreat in Amalfi"

8.0

We had a wonderful stay at Cassiopea. Our hosts Ignatio and Caterina were really sweet and helpful. Caterina even gave us a ride down to Vico Equense as she works in the Hospital there. The B&B is in a peaceful, picturesque little town in the mountains about 20 minutes bus ride down to the ocean. It is very accessible if you have a car. If you don't there is a bus stop directly outside the B&B which comes every 35-45 minutes. There is also a wonderful hiking path right outside the B&B. The cherry on the top was the wonderful breakfast which was prepared by our hosts - an assortment of tasty pastries, fruit, cheese, coffee, juice and even an omlette.

"Is there a rating higher than 5?!"

10.0

My husband and I stayed for 8 nights as our base on the Amalfi Coast. While it's a bit tricky and treacherous to find, it is soooo worth it once you make it to the top of the hill. Catarina and Ignaztio and their adorable daughter, Miriam, treated us more like family than guests. They take such pride in hospitality. We hated to leave and will definitely return when we come back to Amalfi.

"Wonderful breakfast"

10.0

This bed and breakfast is a wonderful adventure into the Italian lifestyle. Follow their instructions carefully and turn off your GPS. You will find wonderful organic fruits and carefully made cheeses for breakfast. The wine in the nearby restaurant is delightful and the owners take a special pride in introducing you to the area. They have a beautiful family and harvest their own grapes, olives and tall the organic trimmings for the tasty breakfast served every morning. This could be the highlight of your trip!

"Magnifico Bed & Breakfast - Cassiopea"

10.0

Ignasio & Caterina and their lovely daughter Miriam were wonderful! The room was very large with a magnificent view of the Amalfi coast high on the mountain. This couple was so warm and welcoming. They shared a fantastic pizza restaurant with us that was run by a friend of theirs named Giuseppi where they serve the pizza by the meter! Dinner with our hosts was absolutely the best! If you do not have a car, do not take a taxi, it will cost an arm and a leg. But a word of caution, they do not accept credit cards. I would have had the cash ready if I had known that from the start, but we barely had enough cash to pay for our 3 nights. Thank you Ignasio and Caterina, we love your home!

"Sorrentine Peninsula...from above"

10.0

If tired of the churn of buses, hotels, and groups of people crowding the main roads along the Sorrentine peninsula, then do yourselves a favor and stay here for as long as you can. The location is near the middle of the peninsula, so you are well away from the tourist crowd and into the places where life happens. It also affords you the ability to get to either side of the peninsula relatively quickly. A short hike up starting from across the street leads to an unbeatable view of the whole area, nice for sunsets. The clean B&B itself is fabulous: built on the foundations of a very old castle, with killer views. Most importantly, the hospitality provided by the family who runs the B&B was the best we'd had in Italy. You will quickly recognize that they are very proud of the local culture and want to share it with you, including their homemade foods like the jam and cheese served up at the plentiful breakfast (yummy), accompanied by local produce, and served on the terrace if you like. Don't be surprised if a few other goodies from the family's kitchen and garden work their way to the table. Doable by bus, but we had rented a car in Naples and drove the mountain roads with no problems, go slow and honk lots. A very good restaurant a few houses down, packed with locals. The family are involved in the local community and want to share the “greatest hits” of the Sorrentine peninsula as well as their little part of it, but they also want to learn about you. We'll be back!
