"Great cheap and cheerful option in Positano"

8.0

We stayed in room 4 for four nights recently and had a great time. The rooms, while basic, are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is lovely (coffee, fresh fruit from Gippys garden and croissants with spreads) and served on the terrace overlooking the fornillo valley and sea. Gippy is very helpful, seems to speak every language imaginable and is full of great advice so make sure you share your plans with him over breakfast and he'll point you in the right direction. The location is also pretty good, 400 steps down to fornillo beach or about 15 mins walk down the road to the main beach/port. A couple of tips - Positano is in a valley and sound (like a neighbours dog barking at night) carries far and wide so take earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Also don't leave food in your room as you are likely to find it covered in ants when your return.

"Excellent, good value B&B"

10.0

Venus B&B Positano is in a great location - 20 minute stroll from beach/water taxis/shops/restaurants. Room large and comfortable, good shower. Fantastic view from terrace where breakfast was served. The best part of the Venus B&B is the owner Gippy - a wonderful host who can't do enough for guests. He made us extremely welcome. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Venus and will certainly return.

"Fantastic price in a convenient location"

8.0

Very easy to get to and on the local Positano bus line. Gippy was an absolute pleasure and made sure we had all the information we needed each morning. Set on the side of town, B&B Venus had gorgeous views of the water. Breakfast was served every morning with made-to-order cappuccinos and espressos. Gippy gave us plenty of recommendations for things to see/do as well as restaurants to try (none disappointed). The room was very quiet and was cleaned every day. This was a short 10-15 minute walk from the main cathedral and we welcomed the beautiful stroll. Also, Fornillo beach was 10 minutes down steps and was so convenient. This was by far our favorite beach and had all the amenities of the main beach without the crowd (5-6 beach bars with renting loungers). I would 100% recommend this B&B to anyone who stays in Positano!!

"Trevligt i Positano"

8.0

Bra läge i Positano.

100% satisfait, merci Gippy !

"Charming, great owner, spectacular view, a bargain"

10.0

The Venus Inn in Positano is a marvelous choice. The owner – Gippy – is a great guy, and super-helpful. The three rooms are large, charming and very pretty without being fancy. Each has its own balcony looking directly out on the Positano coastline,an extraordinary setting and view. Positano is built up a mountain. The B & B is halfway up. You can walk or take a cheap bus, but it is much better to stay there than at the congested and touristy beach and plaza area. At the top of Positano, Gippy’s mother’s house has a single rental room with access to a large garden/patio and great view and, above, a large three-room apartment. We chose to stay in that room although it was bit smaller and simpler than the B & B rooms. It's a locals area with a great trattoria (Cera una volta) a few hundreds yards away, with better food and service than restaurants by the beach, at much less cost. Grocery and fruit stores and an excellent coffee bar are close. Gippy’s mother, Nina, was in the tourist industry and is a wonderful, outgoing lady with lots of helpful tips for travelers. Even if you stay a few days, you will feel like you are leaving good friends. Wifi is available in the public areas and the balconies of both properties, but not in the rooms themselves. Don’t rent a car. The roads are extremely narrow and difficult and parking is expensive. Bus service is excellent and easy. The hike from Positano to Nocelle is particularly spectacular.
