Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron

ホテルの敷地内を見学したいために選んだので、自由に24時間見学できるのは良かったです。

チェックアウト中に電話がかかってきて、対応を後回しにされたため時間がかかりタクシーを待たせて電車にも乗り遅れました。こちらが促すまで他のスタッフさんが奥にいるのに対応してくれなかったので早く対応して欲しかったです。

We chose this hotel as part of a package tour from a high end travel agency because we specifically wanted to be close to the Sound of Music action. On that point this hotel does not disappoint. I’ll start with the positives. The location is outside the city centre but well serviced by Ubers and buses. We never had to wait long for a taxi and for a city found the costs to get around quite reasonable. The hotel itself is beautiful. It’s famous for being the filming location from the scene when Maria and the children fell in the lake. The hotel is split into two buildings; the original palace which hosts breakfast and suites and the Meierhof which is where the majority of rooms are. Our room was functional, clean and had everything we needed. The shower was nice and we were able to stream our Prime service on the tv screen - all nice touches. There are some stunning views in the gardens and the communal areas (bar) are well spread out so lots of spaces to rest. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly. And we were even treated to a guided tour of the palace by one of the reception managers - lots of fascinating history surrounding the hotel. The breakfast choice was extensive - something for everything from hot cooked sausages & bacon, to cold cut meats and cheeses. Some of the points to note - the air common the room is not that efficient which meant that at least one of night’s sleep was a little less than comfortable. Room service visited every day but we had to ask for coffee (sachet) refills for a hot drink the room - I’d suggest that room service do this as normal rather than expecting guests to chase down extra coffee sachets. And please, please consider added decaf coffee to your morning breakfast service!

The location was absolutely stunning and the place really sells itself. I could sit out and gaze all day at the beautiful alps and a Lake. We booked the superior room with lakeside views and it was stunning.

Sadly the service for an establishment like this was subpar. The staff were not particularly warm or welcoming and nothing was said about the property or facilities. Another guest told us to make sure that we check out the private library etc as they had also not been told but had wandered around and encountered it. Prior to my arrival I sent numerous messages regarding a dinner reservation - only to be told on arrival that they don’t have a dinner restaurant on site. This should have been communicated prior to my arrival. There was a lot of dust under the bed as well which is not acceptable for a property of this standard. Overall I absolutely loved my stay at the hotel but purely for the stunning location and its history.
