Antica Residenza Santa Chiara -City Center

We had a lovely stay in Lucca. Our host was warmly welcoming us. The room was beautiful, clean and large. The atmosphere was very friendly. The hotel is on a quiet street but still near the restaurants and plazas.

The nearby square with restaurants / cafes.

A TV with only Italian channels has no value added for non Italian spaking visitors.

Location is great. Walking distance to everything in the walled city.

We knew the place was not an hotel or bed and breakfast, but it did not have facilities for self-catering and it is too expensive for what it offers. We also knew there was not lift but stairs are not very safe. Low value for money. Also through booking.com we stayed in 4 stars hotels in Rimini and Ferrara, with good location, included good breakfast and the cost per day was lower than this residence.

This is a great location to enjoy a visit to Lucca. The host is on site in the mornings and extremely helpful with advice and dealing with any questions or requirements. The room was quite and restful as an escape from the heat and buzz of the town.

A small matter and not something that is necessarily expected in an apartment. There was a fridge and an electric kettle in the room but there were no other utensils or crockery ... but in Lucca it's most enjoyable to go out for breakfast and lunch in any case. And the host would most likely provide glasses, cups, plates if specially requested.

The description of the accommodation refers to a kitchen with a kettle and a fridge. That is all there is! A few paper cups but no cups, plates, cutlery. I had hoped to have breakfast there but it was almost impossible
