Hotel Rotelle

Accueil détestable (on a dû chercher quelqu'un tout autour de l'hôtel). Vous comptez arriver dans un endroit calme et prendre un bain en arrivant. Vous arrivez entre un mariage au bord de la piscine et un baptême de l'autre côté de l'hôtel. Vous avez l'impression de déranger. La chambre que nous avions (une suite) était grande, mais ameublement vieillot et douche avec écoulement inexistant. Nous devions repartir à 7 heures du matin. Nous avons demandé si nous pouvions avoir une petite collation. La réponse est catégoriquement NON alors que le petit déjeuner était compris dans le prix.

En behagelig og smuk oplevelse at overnatte her. Spændende og meget velholdte bygninger og omgivelser.

This hotel may have been once nice, but it has not been well maintained at all. The grounds were not well kept - grass was a foot tall, the pool was filled with dirt, and the furniture was OLD and drab. Our shower was full of mold and soap scum - we did not even dare shower there. We were the ONLY guests the night we stayed and it was as if the entire hotel was shut down and locked up except for the reception desk (and the receptionist leaves in the evening) and our room. We were not granted access to many areas of the hotel because they were locked up. When we got there all the lights in the hotel were off except for the ones in our room and over the reception desk. Since the receptionist leaves in the evening, we were the only people in the entire building after she left. This hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere, so it was spooky. The building itself is pretty and so are the views, but it needs some serious TLC to be considered a FOUR STAR hotel.

It was raining, baby was crying, grandmother nagging. I just pulled in after being lost for an hour. What an amazing place! The staff was wonderful (limited English), the food very good, the views from the room and dining room stunning. But the grounds were the best of all! Pool and gardens overlooked the entire countryside to several far away small towns and were lit at night with a stork fountain running. Just lovely. Tables are set up out there and an outside small work-out area (I didn't use...) Started with wine on the terrace. Free huge pool table in the castle-like front room. Fruit and hot tea set out at all hours. They had a wonderful hot tub (private) I didn't rent but would have but for the baby. The best surprise of my 2 month trip! Oh, very reasonable price. I think it's a 3 star but should be a 4 star.

This a small family driven hotel/B&B, with a central location between Sienna, Montepulcianio and Montalcino. It's located in a quiet rural area on a hilltop overlooking the valley and the mountains in the distant fog. The rooms are spacious and nice, and the suites have direct access to a nice pool/garden with perfect views. We stayed for three night with two small kids, and the atmosphere was very relaxed, and the kids could play around in the garden and the pool, without many other guests to respect. The breakfast could be a lot better, and we didn't try the restaurant. But for at quiet unpretentious spot with kids, this is great. In no way luxurious, but quite charming and relaxed.
