Overall mine and my partner’s stay was a true success. They were able to facilitate an early check in, which was highly appreciated and beneficial. The room was incredibly spacious - with a massive bed, powerful air con, lots of storage and benefitted from daily cleaning and fresh towels. It truly feels like a safe space and all of the other couples were super friendly and welcoming. Massive shoutout to Sue and Steve, who were staying there for their 6th time. We read a fair few views ahead of our stay, the only points we were cautious of were the shower attachment and the hill. Very pleased to confirm that the shower exceeds expectations, with not only a handheld (which was attached) but a rainfall shower. Yes - the hill is steep, but that is like the vast majority of the island. So no complaints at all, it takes less than 10 minutes to reach the town centre and the way back is not as bad as other reviews.

The only point worth mentioning, is that we were on the ground floor and it meant that if we wanted privacy the blinds had to be kept shut. However this is the only, slight, negative! Made no issue to us.

Fabulous views - strenuous walk up the hill. Had to use taxis most of the time to get up the hill. (10 euros each way) Family run hotel - all very pleasant and helpful. Lovely pool and bar area. Large terrace on top floor bedroom

No Fly screen in the main bedroom. Shelf in the shower area needed to put toiletries on. No tea towels. Bathroom door needed painting . Step down to shower area in bathroom a trip hazard.

The view from the reception over the city and the harbour was great.

We did not realise when booking that the place is too high up a hill, which can be daunting on a hot day. The hotel can welcome their guests with some drinking water at least. Water from the tap is not drinkable in Skiathos based on the advice of local residents. The room was on the top floor and gathered plenty of heat during the day as it was not shaded. The cooling system took hours to reduce the temperature when we got back to the room in the evening. The temperature was usually between 33-35 degrees. The one time we had breakfast, it would have been better to decide otherwise and eat elsewhere. The place needs better management.

Unlucky with the weather but loved the Blue Horizon, very lucky to have and meet such a nice bunch of fellow guests, staff couldn’t do enough for you, sad when i had to go home. The location is a ten minute walk into town.

All satisfactory, no negatives, so nothing critical to write, will be going back first opportunity
