Rugapiana Vacanze - B&B

The B&B is tucked away in a non-descript building on the main street of Cortona. The location is perfect, and the room itself charming. The proprietor, whose English is excellent, was gracious and entirely helpful in his explanations. It was a very comfortable and pleasant stay, and I would be happy to return.

Beautiful B&B!!! We arrived pretty late but they were very nice and accommodating. The room was beautiful. Sadly we were passing through and just staying overnight and leaving very early in the morning. We loved it there and plan to return for a longer stay on another trip. Highly recommend!

Excellent location

Rugapiana was perfect for our purposes. The building is a short walk (50 paces or so) from Garibaldi square. Garibaldi square is very picturesque - attractive trees, sweeping views of the Tuscan countryside, several cafés with outside tables commanding views to the horizon. The square is the drop off point for the shuttle bus from the Camucia-Cortona train station, and seemed to be the main entry to the town for motorists (who I think had to park outside the town walls). We had front facing rooms at Rugapiana - bedroom, adjoining kitchen/dining room, bathroom. Each room was attractively decorated and well equipped. We only stayed one night but thought it would work well as a base for a longer stay and day trips to nearby places.

Great place to stay in order to see the town of Cortona and the surrounding areas. Very conveniently located in the town. The rooms are cozy and warm. The walls are very thin, but this is common with most of the hotels in the area. The bathroom was added on as an afterthought and is not as nice as the room.

Great location! Parking nearby and don't try and drive directly to the B&B since it is in the historical district. Note that there are a lot of stairs (no elevators) and it is on the main street so nights can be loud at times but that is part of the experience. Apartments have a kitchen so bring items for breakfast or snacks to save money when you get there.

I was really pleased with the Rugapiana Vacanze B&B! Our room was large and had a very rustic feel. The rooms facing the interior courtyard were very quiet. Like most rooms in Italy, there's not a lot of noise prevention, so we heard our upstairs' neighbors early morning phone call. Note that you do not have breakfast in the actual hotel but at a cafe in the main piazza.

The hotel owner as gracious and informative. Breakfast is not at the B&B but he gives you a ticket to have breakfast at a cafe just a very short walk away. Located near the perimeter parking areas. He gave very good restaurant recommendations including La Logetta for the best steak we have ever eaten.... Chianina.

We couldn't have picked a better location to stay in town. While it is the heart of the town, it was also as close as possible to free public parking. The staff spoke good English and made themselves available any time of day to assist us in any way possible.

The room was wonderful and our host made us feel very welcome. Our room was at the very top (61 stairs!) but worth the climb and if you are staying in Cortona everywhere that you go is either up a hill or down a hill so 61 stairs are OK. The stairwell is decorated very nicely. Loved the hotel, loved Cortona!
