This was one of the best vacation I had in the past years. So perfect, I canceled Dubai and decided to extend my vacation in Germany. If you look for a place to relax, this is the perfect place. And on top, the food is outstanding and personnel very friendly. Five stars in every category. I sure will be back in December for a Family vacation. Thank you Fam. Grimmer and team.
This place looked like it had been a hunting cabin, or something similar. You might get lucky, when I was there, there was a wedding reception going on! It is a great place to take a family for a couple of days, with a swimming pond, and fishing area, a good place to relax. The TV was very tiny, and there were only a few channels, on the otherhand, you go to this place for the experience, not to watch TV. The food was fabulous, and they serve locally caught fish for a reasonable price. The menu was extensive. They had something for everyone. It's a 30 min. drive from Bamberg, the little village seems to attract a lot of musical talent. The host and all the employees were very accomodating, I had to leave at 5:00 a.m., and they packed me a breakfast the night before. Breakfast everyday was substantial, as well. If you want to get away from the typical tourist-trap, this is the place to get a genuine 'German' tourist experience. Some of the staff speak English. Since this place is remote, I don't know if there is any public transportation. I had a rental car.
