Le Chabi

The hotel was recently refurbished and spotlessly clean. The location was great as we had a car, but you would not be able to walk to the lifts in ski boots and even walking to the bus would need normal footwear (although there are lockers at most base stations). There is a ski / ski boot room with plenty of space, although no lockers, so open to all guests (not that we had any issues). We didn't eat there as we were grabbing pastries for breakfast from a boulangerie in the morning (early start to catch the lifts) and ate out in Le Chatel each evening.

We are used to ski in / ski out experience, but that comes at a cost, especially when staying during school holidays. So while we had to drive everywhere, we were quite happy with our choice and value for money.

It was clean, good area you could walk to some nice bars and restaurants, a nice walk at the bottom, beautiful views. Friendly staff at first.

The room was extremely small for three people. Was hard to navigate our luggage and ski gear. You have to pay to use the sauna. The hot tub was stained. There was one plug socket to charge three phones, which was a pain, bring an extension lead if you can. We didn’t realise breakfast was not included in the price as all previous bookings on our holiday had been, when we left, they left us a voicemail, we called straight back and the woman was basically shouting at me like I was a criminal, then told me they had charged my credit card without asking. I was mortified, it was a genuinely innocent mistake, as you would have thought for the price of the room that a selection of yoghurt, fruit and mini croissants would have been included. I would never leave somewhere without paying what I owed and it ruined the stay for me.

Very friendly staff. We went half board and the meals were lovely (traditional food like tartiflette, raclette, etc). Comfy beds, modern bathroom, room cleaned every day. I had my 20yr old son and we played pool and fussbol in the games room. If my daughter had been there we would have been in the pool and hot tub.

Sound proofing between rooms was not great. Hard floors also meant people moving in the room above us was noisy. I'd also note that that you'd ideally need a car to get around (the hotel is back from the road and up a fairly steep hill).
