Hotel Alameda Palace

Beautiful old style hotel sitting right in tge centre between old and new towns. Rooms a good size. Staff very helpful. Marble walls and floors, very luxurious. 6 elevators. Nice room, ample space.

Parking available in basement but very tight if in a medium size car, ( normal i suppose ). You'll be lucky not to get a dink on numbers etc. 17 euros a day. Same as public ones really.

The location and the parking are great. The room was elaborately furnished and decorated. The bed was very comfortable.

The rooftop pool was closed as 10 June is apparently out of season. This was not made clear when booking. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

What may once have been a 5 star hotel, like so many, has suffered from a lack of investment. The furnishings are tired and in poor condition. The parquet floors are loose and dangerous and the fabric of the building is suffering from neglect. Standards have slipped such that no water is provided in the room and the fridge is empty. The pool is, unfortunately, the size of a large bath and also in poor condition. The electrical fittings need updating with, as a suggestion, the provision of USB charging points. This would remove the need for international guests to be constantly searching for the correct mains adapter.
