Hotel Victoria

The bedroom and adjoining bathroom were both large, with plenty of room to move around without knocking into the furniture. In our room there were two large cupboards for clothes, so no suitcases were left lying around. Both bedroom and bathroom had a hard, easy-to-clean floor, and generally everything was clean and tidy. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is directly opposite the train and bus station, so day trips to the surrounding towns and villages were very easy. In spite of its proximity to the station, there was very little noise after about 22:00, and we could sleep with the windows wide open. Life outside starts again at about 6:00, so close the windows during the night if you want to sleep later! The room also had a small balcony, which was lovely to sit out on in the evening.

There are naturally also a few niggles where improvement would make the hotel even better. For a start, I found the shower difficult to control, with the temperature swinging without warning from hot to cold. This is something I really dislike and don't need first thing in the morning. I am a great fan of thermostatic taps, which keep the temperature constant irrespective of pressure fluctuations. The bath was also very slippery, and a non-slip mat or coating would have made me feel safer. In a hot summer, the lack of air conditioning is at times uncomfortable but manageable.

Die Lage neben dem Bahnhof war ideal. Die beiden Terrassen haben Gemütlichkeit ausgestrahlt.

Ein Stromadapter für Schweizer Steckdosen könnte von Haus aus im Zimmer sein.
