"Great staff"

8.0

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is interesting, but once you get past the novelty of staying in a cave, its a dark place that's a little creepy. Not a comment about this hotel so much as what I expect all cave rooms feel like.

"Excellent hotel with great personal service"

10.0

I was welcomed in person by the hotel owner, Mete- who was very helpful with all my tour arrangements before my arrival and during my weekend stay in Cappadocia. The Village Cave Hotel staff were all very hospitable and helpful. The location, the old village of Çavuşin, is away from the commercialized and touristic crowd. It is perfect for someone who wants to experience the authentic Cappadocian village and life. I was a solo female traveler and felt very safe and secure in the area. I highly recommend the Village Cave Hotel and this area of Cappadocia.

"Nice hotel away from touristy area"

10.0

If you're looking to stay close to the more tourist town of Goreme, then this is a great hotel. Probably ~10 mins ride away. Very quiet surroundings. The people in town were exceptionally nice. Unfortunately because it is a smaller town, the few stores tend to close earlier. There are fewer restaurants in town. I only stayed for one two nights so it wasn't much of an issue. After spending 5 days in Istanbul, I appreciated the calmer and slower pace. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as the morning older attendant spoke almost no English, but the Turkish breakfast was exceptional. Mete will correspond with you ahead of your booking to help set up excursions. Overall, fantastic service and environment.

"Perfect place to escape from the crowds"

10.0

This place just changed management and it couldn't be in better hands. The staff pay alot of attention to detail and make you feel right at home. Çavuçin is a really small town and at 5pm you get the town all to yourself wich is great in my book. I would definitely recommend this hotel, don't think twice and book. We didn't want to leave!

"Family first visit to Kapadokya. "

10.0

Excellent hotel with wonderfully humble hosts. The location is fantastic. It is comfortably remote and the caves you stay in are authentic. A very memorable first impression as you can see and easily walk to Hitite ruins directly across from the hotel. Be sure to get out early around 7 or 7:30 to watch the amazing gala of balloons rising up from directly behind the ruins. Maybe every second day but worth watching for as there are 50 to 70 hot air balloons each time. Be sure you are prepared for the damp feel of the cave rooms as this is encountered in all authentic cave hotels. Well worth the experience!

"Amazing experience in Cappadocia!"

10.0

We had an amazing stay at Village Cave Hotel. This family run hotel is the perfect place for a true cave experience. Halim and his lovely family truly made our stay as easy and comfortable as possible. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating, and we knew that everyone was trying to make sure we had a great time. The hotel is located in Cavusin, which I thought was a perfect location, close to excellent hiking trails and historic sites within walking distance, and less touristy/commercial than other neighboring towns. The breakfast was huge and always too much food than we could handle, but Halim's family went out of the way to ensure we were well fed. Overall, this is a gem of a hotel for an excellent price, and I would recommend it to my family and friends.

"Fantastic cave experience."

10.0

This is a quiet family run hotel with friendly service and delicious fresh homemade breakfasts plus other meals if requested. The hotel is built into a cave with all modern conveniences. If you don't plan to take a hot air balloon ride then this is the hotel to stay at as the balloons fly low along the street to give riders a close up view of the historic caves which our room overlooked. Our room had spectacular views of the many balloons and caves. The front courtyard in late spring time when we visited is festooned with fragrant roses and shady trees under which we ate our meals. There is also a dining room and Turkish style lounge with a library where you can exchange books. A computer is available for travellers without one. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner including driving us into town to search for and find my husband's lost wallet! Our stay was restful and relaxing. The hotel is in a village just outside Goreme which was an easy walk away.

"A pure gem - don't hesitate!"

10.0

We had high expectations when arriving at the Village Cave hotel in Cavusin, near Goreme. This was our first trip without our little boy and we wanted it to be perfect. Well it definitely was! The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It took Halim, the owner, 7 years to renovate it and the result is amazing. Cosy, welcoming and unique. Halim managed to bring the house back to its former glory. Our bedroom was tastefully furnished with turkish artefacts, it had its own engraved fireplace and alaturca coffee table, the king size bed was super comfortable, it felt like being in a small suite. And it was literally carved inside the moutain (there was one large window providing natural light and fresh air too). To go to the living room we had to walk through a very short tunnel decorated with turkish carpets, which was quirky and fun. Above all, the service was first class. Halim's recommendations were worthwhile and enabled us to visit the Ilhara Valley that would have been too far otherwise. Ahmet, who helped Halim, went out of his way to make our stay unforgettable. The food he served us was simply too good - breakfasts were a feast and dinners tasteful and intimate. He even drove us to Goreme one evening, and back. We will never forget his kindness. The location (Cavusin) is just perfect. Everything is close by, if not by foot, using the local buses' reliable network. And it is so much better than Goreme that has become so touristic it now lacks authenticity. We will come back!!!
