Elkep Evi Cave Hotel

The rooms, although stacked caves in a larger hillside, have their own front patios with table and sofa, looking out over the valley, it really has a villa kind of feel. The rooms are spacious and kept very clean, as cave rooms have to constantly be maintained against eroding dust Ive been told. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit of a trek up a hill from town, but nearby just down the hill was Ziggy's, a restaurant that I returned to 2 nights in a row, possibly the most memorable meals of my trip in Turkey.

This is an extraordinary hotel - rooms literally in very very old caves dug centuries ago have been cleaned up and appointed with all the conveniences a traveler would want - and then some! The people at the desk and in the breakfast were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was fulsome and delicious. We had a wonderful time! (The one teeny drawback for older folks is that it is up a long and steep hill - fine to walk down but a challenge to get up especially after some of the lovely local wine - but taxis are plentiful and cheap.)

The hotel was excellent, service, room and dining room. Great location.
