Short on bathroom items - toilet paper and no shampoo

Tutto perfetto. Siamo stati soltanto una notte perchè siamo arrivati troppo tardi in traghetto. Ma veramente saremmo rimasti do più. Civitavecchia è una cittadina conosciuta soltanto per il porto, ma è davvero carina. E poi in Villa Susanna ci siamo trovati veramente a casa. Colazione self service, con assolutamente di tutto da mangiare e bere. Assolutamente da consigliare

The Susanna was very good in terms accommodation, the facilities and self service breakfast provisions provided. Most if not all home comforts were catered for.

We had originally advised the owner at the booking stage that our flight from UK and the in country transport would result in our arrival at the unmanned premises at around 6pm (1800hrs). We were early and actually checked in at 4pm (1600hrs) collecting our coded front door entry note pinned to the front door and then entering our designated room which was already open with the keys inside. In a reply to a welcome email message from the owner, we advised that we were early but apparently the message wasn't received as the premises internet connection was poor with intermittent router operation. The owner, who apparently visited at 6pm and didn't see us assumed we were a no show and over hastily advised booking.com that were had not arrived and in a terse email advised there was no refund and we had broken our contractual obligation. Had the owner noticed that the front door note had gone and our room door was now locked it would have been obvious that we had arrived (we went out downtown around 6.15pm (1815hrs). This was an unnecessary concern after a long travelling day which was straightened out with the owner the following morning. If the premises internet had been working properly all would probably have been ok. Even the owner had trouble with it in the morning on arrival to oversee customer departures.
