Hotel Cortijo San Ignacio

Hotel is a very attractive old-ish but renovated country house style Spanish building in its own grounds. It is right next to a golf course, so it is also ideal for golfers (although I found the green fees quite expensive, and the course is closed for maintenance every Monday afternoon). In accessing the hotel from the motorway you drive through a pretty unattractive area, which makes you wonder about what the hotel will be like, but once there, it is very nice. It also has a swimming pool and an attractive adjoining partially covered area with comfortable sofas and chairs and with a small pantry containing all sorts of drinks, which is a great area for relaxing. You need either a car or use taxis for access since it is not within walking distance of a town, shops or buses. Given those limitations, it is certainly to be recommended.

18th century ex monastary and bodega, with walled, shaded courtyards. Beautiful quirky furnishings and decorations, some looking as though they are renovated originals. Outside swimming pool and seating. Good, helpful, friendly staff. Very clean, well furnished bedrooms and bathrooms. Relaxed, calm atmosphere, very quiet and gentile. Good breakfast buffet. Only down side was difficult to find, and the immediate area, mostly not visible from the hotel, was not particularly attractive. About 15 mins drive from the airport.

Lille hyggeligt hotel med kun få værelsen, men hvor alle spiser ved samme "familiebord". Huset er præget af gammel spansk storbondestil, med flotte detaljer og spændende indretning. Golf uden for døren.
