Difficult to find at top of the steps. We visited in the off season, minimal assistance from the management who appeared to wish to have the weekend off. breakfast a bit tired, withered fruit & dry cakes. New housekeeper, a recent Sri Lankan arrival very pleasant & tried to be very helpful but limited English spoken. The suite overly cluttered & very small shower & bathroom. Bed very comfortable.

街の中心にある、「サンタ・デル・モンテの大階段」の上部に隣接しており、見て廻るのには良いかも。ただ車は街の下の方にある公営の駐車場に止め、歩いてホテル探しをした。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　いわゆる旧市街と言われる観光スポットには景観保存のためか、大きなホテルのような施設はなく既存の住宅を改装して使っているケースが多かった。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　又、道が細く車の入れない、止められないケースが多かった。ここもそうで、荷物はオーナーが車で下の駐車場まで取りに行ってくれた。

Familienzimmer war nett eingerichtet, jedoch etwas dunkel und nicht ganz sauber, da Materialen von minderer oder alter Qualität. Wegen schlechten Türen und Fenstern ringhörig. Vor dem Fenster hat es einen lauten Kompressor, welcher am frühen Morgen startete und uns alle weckte. Das Frühstück beim Besitzer auf der Dachterrasse war gut, die Aussicht von dort "himmlisch". Infos über die Stadt durch Besitzer sehr interessant. Internet-Zugang war nicht möglich. Gleich nebenan hatte es auch B&Bs. Ich würde in Zukunft ein anderes B&B vorziehen, da mich das Zimmer zusehr "kellergefühl" vermittelte.

We stayed in the independent unit that is on the Via Testa, a few feet off the steps of Santa Maria di Monte. It was nice and large, with sofas to relax on. On the next street down the steps was the area with the breakfast room, which had a beautiful terrace and a wonderful view. The breakfast was very nice. I had previously scoped out potential parking areas on Google maps with Streetview, so I could see what the streets actually looked like, and was able to get a space on Via Ex Matrice, since driving around a hill town is impossible (you never know what streets are passable are not). We had gone to Caltagirone to see the neighborhood and house my grandmother was born in, and I do recommend a short visit to the town (one day will do). Just be aware that many of the streets are steep, narrow staircases, so you have to be prepared for that. If you are able, try to time your visit with one of the major festivals, like San Giacomo, when the entire staircase is covered with little colored lamps that create a beautiful image. There is another holiday when it is completely covered with a flower design.

È un posto davvero romantico, curato nei minimi dettagli, caldo e accogliente. Trovandosi quasi in cima alla scalinata del Monte è un po' scomodo arrivarci. Il consiglio è chiamare il B&B prima dell'arrivo per farsi spiegare bene dove parcheggiare e la strada più comoda per raggiungere la casa. Trovandosi in pieno centro storico le strade sono molto strette, non bisogna fidarsi del navigatore perché si rischia di arrivare in delle stradine in cui è quasi impossibile tornare indietro. Per il resto l'esperienza è stata davvero unica: la casa è molto profumata, ricca di candele ed essenze che rendono il luogo accogliente al visitatore, la doccia a pioggia è rigenerante, la colazione ottima! La vista dalle camere e dalla stanza della colazione è una panoramica privilegiata su Caltagirone. Insomma vi consiglio di andarci perché si sta davvero bene!

L'emplacement est super chouette (petit balcon sur les escaliers, et le soir on profite des italiens qui sortent leurs chaises et se mettent à discuter). Assez facile à trouver en se repérant justement aux escaliers, et petit parking public au-dessus des marches. Toutefois, l'accès en voiture n'est pas évident (rues bien étroites) et le transport des sacs non plus (une quarantaine de marches à descendre depuis le parking), le B&B est situé à droite en descendant. La vue depuis la terrasse au petit déjeuner est superbe, et on fait durer le plaisir. A l'intérieur, c'est tout en hauteur. Très bonne adresse pour un hébergement à Cattagirone.

Le studio en face est très bien décoré et spacieux seule la salle de bain un peu petite vient nuancer mon opinion.

Finding the B&B is a challenge, especially with no knowledge of Italian - par for the course in Italy unless going to the Hyatt in a taxi. There is no parking for the place, just what you find near or far, guaranteed to be at least a 10m difference in elevation. (Try the end of Via di Asilio Infantil, if you can find it.) Hence beware, luggage needs to be hauled with some effort. The old house has been superbly restored, with great modern touches of interior design. It still remains a bit of a pigeon coop, though, with tiny room, bathroom and steep steps. The famous steps leading down to town or up the church are many and higher than modern building regulations would specify: a few trips either way will test one's cardio fitness. (And show why small-town Sicilians must be so fit.) The host is very congenial, speaking some English. When bookings allow, he is very relaxed about check in/out times, and helpful with information. All that stuff about the views is spot on, even from one's room, but especially from the breakfast room and its balcony. Frail, infirm or disabled people may not be up to the physical challenge of access.

B et B situé dans l'escalier magnifique de Santa Maria. Se garer au plus près et le patron vient vous chercher avec les bagages. Accueil chaleureux avec commentaires des visites possibles. Chambre spacieuse et confortable avec vue panoramique. Petit déjeuner varié en buffet sur la terrasse. Excellente étape.
