Bellevue Village

Recently taken over from their parents George and Fofi are updating this venue Their welcome is very hospitable and we learned a lot about Crete in the short time we were there. It is not expensive especially so as this holiday complex offers very relaxing and secluding apartments with small kitchen bathroom, terrace and balcony. The campus is very well kept and it is possible to have meals and breakfast for an additional fee on request. Loungers surround a good swimming pool. The small tables at the bar overlook Ligaria bay where it is possible to drive down to and where there are inexpensive welcoming tavernas. Heraklion and Knossos are short drives away as is Fodele a charming tourist craft village.We had a very nice few days and would return.

Wonderful views, great location, super friendly, helpful hosts. Having travelled a little around the west of Heraklion coastline, and half way in land whilst on holiday at Bellevue, I feel confident in saying that this must be one of the best places to stay in this part of Crete. The views from just about everywhere on the site are stunning. It is quiet in April so having the choice of the 2 local beaches was perfect as Agia Pelagia had a little bit of life (it gets very busy in summer) and Lygaria was very tranquil and I believe this stays relatively so in the summer months. Location is perfect with regards to Heraklion which is easily accessible but far enough away that there is no plane noise. It is on a steep hill - you couldn't get views like this without that being the case. 25min walk to Agia Pelagia and 15min to Lygaria. Coming back the final 3min of the walk up the path and big steps is the hardest bit. Take them slowly whilst enjoying the views. Rooms are clean and furnished to a good standard with lovely finishing touches put in by Fofi. It is a traditional style family run greek rooms hotel, not overly modernised, maintaining an authentic style. George and Fofi will do whatever is needed to make your stay comfortable. The view from the taverna at the top of the site is spectacular. Got to be contender for 'best taverna view in Crete'.

We came across the Bellevue Village by chance after checking other people's references on Tripadvisor. Turned out we couldn't have picked a better place to spend six nights in Crete: the owners George and Fofi are such personalities that it was truly a pleasure to come back to the hotel every evening. They are most welcoming and hospitable people one can ever meet! They also have a dog named Hermes, who is friendly and seemed always excited to see us. Goerge and Fofi were offering a fixed menu of really tasty dishes and we actually ended up eating most of our late night dinners at Bellevue under the olive trees alongside a glass of local wine. Bellevue Village is well situated on a hill overlooking the sea, and the view is simply breathtaking. Location is also great for exploring the island further away (considering you have a car rented out, we got ours from Heraklion airport).There are two beaches a walk or short drive away, and they are both worth a dive or more. There are lots of tavernas nearby, especially at Agia Pelagia beach. All of which we tried did not disappoint: food was definitely one of the best things to experience in Crete. Highly recommended!

Upea reissu. Bellevuen sijainti on loistava: rantapäivät sujuivat vaivattomasti ja vuokraamamme auto pysyi hyvin mukana hotellin parkkipaikalta Kreetan nähtävyyksiin. Omistajapariskunta George ja Fofi olivat suurin syy matkan onnistumiseen: he ottivat kaikki toiveemme huomioon ja heidän tapansa saada olomme tuntemaan tervetulleiksi oli aitoa ja sydämellistä. Viikko vierähti turhankin nopeasti saarta ja lähialueita kierrellessä tai ihan vain hotellin uima-altaalla tai rannalla loikoillen. Tänne uudestaan!

We loved our 2nd stay at Hotel Bellevue...the family owned business is wonderful and extremely fair and reasonable on prices for rooms and food. Though not a high end luxury hotel, the rooms are spacious, clean, equipped with kitchenettes, and are located in a quiet & safe area with a beautiful view of the bay. Beaches are a short hike down the hill and the property also has a well kept pool. The service is exceptional and the ambience is traditional. The dedication to their family business brings back many loyal visitors, creating a nice family atmosphere. Great value for the money, especially in Europe!

Hotelli oli pettymys, vain näköala oli upea! Huoneisto oli ensin todella kylmä, lämpeni kun sää parani. Sähköt eivät toimineet toisena päivänä. Lattiaa ei siivottu koko viikkona. Respan siisteys ja haju eivät houkuttelisi syömään siellä. Varustetaso oli heikko. Vain oma positiivinen asenne ja hyvä sää pelastivat lomamme!!
