The building and rooms are truly beautiful, with a lot of care put into the design and details. The little terrace is especially lovely: a perfect spot to sit and relax. The location couldn’t be better: you’re right next to the main square, but it still feels calm and charming. Parking is very easy too, just around the corner on the perpendicular street. The beds are super comfortable, everything is spotless, and you can really feel the attention to cleanliness and comfort throughout the space. Dina, the owner is so nice so extra points!

The place is beautiful, but there are a couple of things to be aware of. The shower looks great, though the water pressure is a bit low. The property is right next to a church, so the bells ring very loudly at 16:00, which can be uncomfortable. Arrival itself was smooth in the end, and Dina was responsive, but since she couldn’t be at the property when we arrived, we had to keep calling her (to update our arrival time, ask about parking, and figure out how to get the keys). It all worked out, but it took quite a few calls to get everything sorted.

It's a good base for exploring nearby towns. However, no parking place is provided.

The hotels's description on booking.com is very misleading. We rented an apartment with a kitchen but on the second day when we wanted to heat up milk for kids we were informed that using the gas stove requires additional payment - 10euro per day. It's like renting a room with a bathroom and having to pay for a water to take a bath. The hotel's description says it is offering a bathrobe, slippers, cosmetics but all we received was a hand soap. Nobody helped us with a parking place. In the apartment for 4 people we were provided with only 2 chairs which was very inconvenient. We very also very disappointed with breakfast. They are very basic - no fruits, no veggies, no meat. Furthermore, the location next to the restaurant means you hear people dining till 1am whereas the church bells wake you up at 7am. If you like religious elements in the room and the location suits you that's fine but we caution against misleading hotel description. Hiding additional charges for advertised services is highly unfair. We left the hotel 1 day earlier.

Die Unterkunft Borgoterra im Herzen der Altstadt von Martano ist ein wirkliches Idyll! Sehr umsichtig wurden mehrere Gebäude eines historischen Convents, der früher zur (unüberhörbaren) benachbarten Kirche gehörte, zu Gästezimmern umgebaut. Bei der Sanierung wurde die alte Bausubstanz erhalten. Die liebevolle Ausstattung mit historischem Mobiliar und stilvoller Deko zeugt vom familiären und herzlichen Geist, mit dem das Unternehmen geführt wird. Lauschige Höfchen und Terrassen laden zum Verweilen ein. Die Ausstattung ist mit TV, Fön, Klimaanlage und Kühlschrank dennoch sehr zeitgemäß und praktisch. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Im alten Refektorium ist heute der Frühstücksraum untergebracht. Das Frühstück ist authentisch mit kleinen einheimischen Köstlichkeiten und lohnt sich in jedem Fall! Wir würden diese Unterkunft jedem uneingeschränkt empfehlen, der einen Sinn für historisches Flair und idyllischen Charme hat und kommen selbst so bald wie möglich wieder.
