Hotel Vianen - Utrecht

Very busy so a bit slow in the restaurant. Very clean room but corridors a bit tired (and long). Car parking very cramped.

Despite having air conditioning, the room was far too hot. Temperature on entry 22 degrees, once air conditioning on for several hours, temperature 23.5 degrees! Very unpleasant for sleeping.

Stayed at hotel to attend a wedding, rooms were spacious and well fitted out, had an outside balcony to sit out on. Needs more attention to detail by housekeeping, table legs, drawers and toilet areas let it down. Rooms are also a short trek from main entrance and restaurant/bar. Ongoing work to front block of hotel so ask for a room to rear of hotel. Location great for access to roads and public transport if using hotel as touring base.

The hotel was near the pretty town of Vianen but the actual location of the hotel was not at all pretty. The hotel clearly caters mainly for business and conferences etc as the reception & communal areas of the hotel were of a good standard. The bedrooms, however, were not as plush. The beds were way too soft and the pillows lumpy. The breakfast was extensive and of nice quality and the evening meal was reasonable but the house wine was rough!

Huge hotel, miles to our room from reception. Dining room would hold at least 400 people. Room was fine, lots of noise from motorway which runs alongside hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Very clean and well staffed hotel and restaurant fantastic food. Room spacious and modern with very clean facilities.

We are regular Van Der Valk customers and this is the first time we have been disappointed in one of their hotels. This hotel definately lacks the 'polish' of the other hotels we have stayed in in this group. The first we room we stayed in we asked to be move as the room and beds smelt of damp and mould. The second room was OK but was tired and the cleaning standards were questionable. There were other small issues during our stay which I did raise with the hotel who, to be honest were not that bothered. In brief, this is not a hotel we will return to

Lovely hotel, with a very big room and lots of space. Nice terrace (ground floor) and the only snag was that there was refurbishment taking place, which meant we had a very long walk to our room from the car park. Very friendly staff, excellent food and the outside dining area was very nice.
