Excellent breakfast. Friendly and professional service.

Bad internet connection in the area where sunbeds (SPA).

The breakfast was okay. Not the best.

We got the dinner/breakfast inclusive package. For dinner the plain water was charged 10.50 CHF per day. The waiter said the wine was included so my self and my wife ordered wine. But it was charged 34 CHF each day. My 3 year old dinner was not inclusive with the package. Neither the front desk or restaurant told us. I had to wear blazer for dinner which I didnt have one and I had to pay 25 CHF each day to rent blazer. At the end of check out I am surprised with 400 CHF bill for wine, water during dinner with lead to believe it was included and neither front desk or restaurant neglect to disclose when I asked before I checked in. Parking was charged 3 days each day 28 CHF. When I asked why 3 days and I only booked 2 nights they said it was incorrectly charged and they would reverse the charge. But I haven't got the reversed charge on my credit card yet. To be honest I am not recommending this hotel. Even plain water is charge10.50 CHF each glass during dinner. The funny thing is we cannot bring room bottle water either. So the dinner is not inclusive its basically charged with bottle water and wine. The waiters are sneaky to make you belive its included.

The Kronenhof continues to impress me with its attentive staff, top level service, food, and atmosphere. I received a complimentary room upgrade which I was not expecting. I requested a room change the second day after a significantly long hike due to noise from the Laret festival right below my window. The staff accommodated my request without issue. I will only stay at the Kronenhof when I visit the Upper Engadin.

Switzerland country scenery is a huge garden spotted with charming houses. But some places are more attractive than others and this hotel helps to make Pontresina a very attractive destination. Much more charming than St Moritz, and still only 10 minutes away, Pontresina is a beautiful base for hiking and relaxing. This hotel makes relaxing a special experience Build nearly 200 years ago and after several expansions and refurbishments today they offer a classical XIX century building with all modern conveniences, tastefully decorated and with a refined taste all around. The huge stately restaurante serves an excellent buffet breakfast and a fixed dinner menu with choices. A second gourmet restaurant adds on alternatives if the restaurant is not enough. WiFi works very well, the Spa is huge and fantastic, one of the best I visited, The garden facing the valley and mountains with its lunch wooden cabin restaurant, makes relaxing during the day the perfect plan. We had a very nice suite consisting of a generous bedroom, separate living room and large bathroom. Everything up to date and elegant. Clothes storage space is so large that you could bring your whole wardrobe and will not fill it up. As very frequent in Switzerland AC is not provided. I have some doubts about 5 star hotels going on with this policy outside major cities. Staff is very well trained and formally dressed up as in all palace hotels.

The advantages: the location is magnificent, the hotel is well decorated and quite cosy. The rooms are simple but comfortable. I was positively surprised by the dining room and the evening buffet, where the food was creative and varied. The staff are on hand to help and guide guests in their various activities in the area. Disadvantages: the spa is quite small and the rules on family times are not respected - and it is difficult to relax with a screaming toddler next door. Some of the staff are sometimes too familiar (several asked for our personal contact). Finally, billing is rather opaque and it's unclear what is and isn't included (particularly at breakfast).

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Little dated and could definitely do with a spruce up, BUT it's uber luxurious still somehow. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The lounge had stunning views and beautifully decorated - it sort of made up for the dates rooms - the rooms were not really a place to hang out in - perhaps if you you were in one of the suites - (we were in room 433) There's an amazing Thai restaurant walking distance which we went to a couple of times. Its walking distance (come out of the hotel and turn left) from a place that leads you to a little river and you can walk along it with little bridges - quite stunning
